hi guys, i hope you see this post,
i'm sorry i didn't get a chance to check my email for the past few weeks because i'm a senior high school student and i was very busy studying ,and i really didn't get a chance to do it ,plus that i expected you to announce the winner on a video not an email, so when i watched the video, and heard linus saying that the winner "NEVER GOT BACK TO US" i checked my emails and i found this email ,so once again guyes i'm sorry for not replying to you at the right time,but i really love your videos and i'm definitely watching them.

so keep up the great work ,and i might get another chance in the 2 million subscriber giveaway.

That sucks dude, but they won't reverse it back now anymore. I wouldn't expect them to either tbh.

Well no offence but you arnt gonna get any sympathy from me, hopefully this will deter other 1 posters from just entering prizes and abandoning the forum.

Well not only did he annouce it in the video that you were going to get an E-mail but you also didn't even bother to post something else other than the entry untill now but now you want to claim the price that legit forum meber has won? Seriously you are not going to get any sympathy here.

You should always read rules and conditions about giveaways before entering. If I remember right, it was forum PM, not email and it was clearly said to be only method. It has also been discussed here for long that live announcement failed etc. As for checking emails and PMs, you can set forum yo send email when PM arrives. Also not being able to check emails because being on trip and so is bummer but that isn't really organizers problem. You take that risk when you enter competition. I was kinda same situation about emails before I got Galaxy S2 to myself. But for me problem was emails from university that required fast responses.

Im also new here but sorry to say man the other guy deserves it more. Im a long time lurker around these forums and i finally decided to sign in but 1-2 posts doesnt mean i should get rewarded for it. There should be kind of a cap i guess for how active you have to be to get rewarded.And like others said it takes less than a minute to check e-mail.

Also if you live in Egypt then customs would have cost you at least double the cost of buying one locally and would have been lost in shipping

for start , i know that the other winner deserves it more than me ,and that i'm a (ONE POST GUY) but i never said that i want it back again sure i'm pissed off right now ,i mean i'm not satisfied playing far cry 3 on mid and get about 26-fps ,while i missed a chance to won a monster pc , but i know that the other guy deserves it more than me, i just wrote that to say that i love there videos and i watch them all the time , not for SYMPATHY.

This is not about who deserves what.  They picked a winner by random not based on the number of posts or how active you are on the forums. As long as they follow the process they paid out and are fair that is all anyone can ask from LMG.

 

It sucks the guy missed out on the prize.  I'd be really upset as well.  But what happened happened and there is nothing but to move on from it.

Obviously Linus doesn't pick a winner based on postcount, but it's very frustrating to everyone that's active on the forum if someone makes an account just for the giveaway and never posts again.

Have a separate giveaway. One for those one timers and one for the active members on LTT.

To be fair to them, not everyone has time to be an active member on forums. But just because they aren't a part of the forum, doesn't mean they're not a part of the community. 

 

And they do giveaways just for valued, active forum members. So i feel just because someone hasn't had 1000+ posts on this forum, shouldn't exclude them from it as they may be just as valued a viewer on LinusTechTips. 

But with that being said, i guess there are people that only ever view stuff for the giveaways and are only really in the whole thing for that reason.
