Because everyone has different tastes.

Because its the new "hot" thing. Fortnite is primarily played by kids, and kids don't have much of their own opinion, they just follow the crowd.

i know that, but i'm just trying to see other perspectives.

what i've seen of it is enough for me not to play it.

I find it fun(at times, Season 5 was literal hell).

The fights are a little more mentally engaging than PUBG. In PUBG, if you can shoot and handle recoil and bullet drop, you're golden. In Fortnite, there's building, other players, bullet drop(on snipers), bloom, and so forth. There's more to keep track of in Fortnite's fights.

In my opinion, the game gets a lot better when you put in the time and effort to get better at it.

It's free and a genuine good multiplayer game.

I don't play it or ever have the appeal to but I totally get why its doing so well.

If you want to do well at least, you have to keep that in mind and be aware of all that.

I enjoy the game, but still find a lot of that stuff annoying.

that's with most games to be honest... liek i play Overwatch a LOT, and in that game you need to be aware of what each character can to so you can kinda predict what your enemies are going to do.

I agree, at first, I did not find it appealing, but once i started utilizing the building features and such, I found it to be quite fun but only with friends

That's true. And a lot of Fortnite fights(or any PvP game in general) is predicting what your enemy will do. Which also factors in the gunplay, the building, the editing, etc.

And there's also an increased risk of getting 3rd or even 4th partied in fights now, so you'll want to be finishing your fights faster than usual.

Agreed, it is a lot more fun with friends. I play PUBG exclusively with friends.

I don't mind others playing Fortnite or other games they like. But to keep talking about it to the point, where it's being shoved down on people faces, it needs to stop. Overwatch and PUBG are also popular games, and yet we don't hear about them every damn second.

For a couple months, I thought it was just a complete PUBG ripoff with a typical cancerous community, but once I started playing, I realized that you really don't encounter those people very often. Besides that, there's a good selection of things to do and the daily/weekly/event challenges have a good amount of variety. As with any multiplayer game, playing with your own friends instead of randoms in your team is definitely recommended, although the solo gamemode is still really fun. If anybody were to start playing Fortnite, the first thing they should do is turn the voice chat off because nobody wants to hear a 12 year old Russian kid singing while you're concentrating in a game.

Because they either suck at multiplayer games that let you respawn after you die or they are tired of multiplayer games that let you respawn after you die.

I personally hate the battle royale genre because I don't suck at multiplayer games that let you respawn after you die and I never get tired of multiplayer games that let you respawn after you die.

As you can tell, not being able to respawn after I die is a deal breaker for my taste of games. I gotta be able to avenge my death. I just do. It's tough to understand how people tolerate being thrown back into a main menu seconds after dying and then having to start all over again. I suppose when people have friends to pick them up and/or protect them, battle royale games might be fun to them.

Battle royale games are also pretty fresh and new if you've never played them. Anything new and/or fresh attracts a gamer because it's different than the same old thing. Fortnite also just so happens to be pretty polished so that kind of ties into why it's chosen by most battle royale gamers over other clunky/unpolished battle royale games. Plus it will run on a potato and... it's FREE. That's pretty much why so many people play it right there.
