It is true. I am still waiting for Android O. And once I get it then "O" will also be my first reaction because I am really not expecting it anymore.

Ahh yes, the nontraversy known as “battery throttling” the effects of which neither make your phone unusable nor do they force you to upgrade to a new device. Infact, it actually helps older iPhones stay usable.

It’s also a feature that you can literally turn off and entirely reverse yourself with two screws, a few adhesive pull tabs, and a replacement battery or you can go through Apple for $30......

Apple doesn’t force you to upgrade and they don’t slow down their phones in an act to get you to do so. If they did have that corporate philosophy they would still not be selling 2 year old flagships.

You are apple fanboy! And blind to see what apple does. Typical iSheep!

Apple slows down phones even apple oriented youtube channels have shown many times videos about the exact same models running different versions. As iphone gets updated it slows down! Every iOS version was in order. The newer version was the slower ran phone.

Macs are shit too. New i9 mac is slower then older i7 LOL. Keyboard breaks down, has kernel panics because of some t2 chip. Earlier models had bad gpus that were dying, iMac can't be fixed by even apple (linus had this problem himself) They are overpriced shit. They were forcing to use and buy thunderbolt dongles and devices and now they want to go USB-c, Apple quote here: "Because fuck you, we know better what you want".

They have so low quality control and debugging that their macOSs granted root user without password LOL.

Remember this shit about iphone 4?

Apple responds to iPhone 4 reception issues: you're holding the phone the wrong way

LOL hillarious!

See this shit? Fucking dongle company. Courage they said LOL

Apple fanboys it's better for you to just shut up! You do not know shit about computers! You are part of iSheep and apple is milking money out of you! That's why it's 1 Billion $ company, not because it makes the best everything.

Their enginiering is shit!

Computer users fall into two groups:
those that do backups
those that have never had a hard drive fail.

Gonna have to agree with you x'D Android Pie has launched and Samsung is just now releasing an Android Oreo update roadmap for it's low- and mid-range... https://www.androidauthority.com/samsung-android-oreo-update-roadmap-893636/

It's getting better though thankfully. Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, Oppo R15 Pro, Vivo X21UD and X21, and Essential PH‑1 are all confirmed to be getting it "Before the end of Fall", so in the next couple months, thanks to Treble. Several other phone devs who support Treble have also said it should be out in the next few months. And as more phones start to leverage Treble we should see more devices with nearly simultaneous releases.

Samsung and Blackberry will likely always be slow though :\ Knox and Blackberry's enterprise tweaks aren't really Treble friendly.

I don't know. I find that reply even sillier.

I mentioned before that people have legitimate reasons for why they dislike Apple. But that reply felt more like a headless rant than anything.

On a side note, why in the actual fuck did this turn into an Apple thread yet again?

I never found any mention of Apple. Not even in here.

And that's because it's true. Unless you own a Pixel or an Android One device, you'll be waiting for months in order for the new Android version to reach your phone

  • They didn't tell anyone until they were caught
  • It decreased the clock speed in excess of 50% in some cases.
  • So if Intel decided to disable half your cores without telling you and fixing it required following steps you don't know at you telling me that Average Joe would not think to upgrade?
  • The fix was only made public after Apple had been caught out throttling the phones without notifying users.
  • Only after the the issue was revealed did we get an option to turn the "feature" off.

The real problem was Apple's approach to implementing it.

I know why they did it but their secrecy in doing so made it extremely shady.

I know they didn't want to make the phone draw more power than the battery can supply, reducing the risk of a random shutdown. That's fine but please have some form of communication because I'm sure some people just thought their phones got slower and went out and bought a whole new iPhone, not knowing that they could've just replaced the battery.

You know how this could've been mitigated?

"The battery in your iPhone may require servicing. Some features and performance may be limited to prevent adverse effects."
