camera roll photos to your contacts without permission. As first spotted by Gizmodo, users are complaining about the issue on Reddit and the company’s official forums. One user says his phone sent all his photos to his girlfriend. The messages are being sent through Samsung’s default texting app Samsung Messages. According to reports, the Messages app does not even show users that files have been sent; many just find out after they get a response from the recipient of the random photos sent to them.

Samsung has said it is aware of the issuse and is working on it

So the best thing to do is get rid of all your memes and nudes before you grandma see them lol.

Does anyone intentially use any Samsung app? They're all shit. Samsung makes great hardware but shit software, Google makes great software but shit hardware. This is a match made in heaven, except for all the Samsung bloatware.

Generally the official Samsung Camera app takes better photographs than most other third party apps, including the Google Camera app unless HDR is used.

I really hope Samsung/T-Mobile refund those who were affected, if this happens on a PAYG contract sending your entire camera roll will be horrendously expensive.

So now we've had phones that blow up, retard performance, brick on update, crash when receiving certain texts and finally send all your pictures to people in your contact list.  I wonder whats going to be next?

Pretty massive fuckup. I think I'm gonna clean my phone from photos today...

Why the hell it has access to photos anyway?

It needs it in order to send mms.

Edit: Looked into it a bit more.

So far it seems like a very isolated problem. From what I can tell it's about 6-7 people who has been affected and reported it on Reddit/Samsung forums.

It seems like it is limited to T-Mobile people, who are on the same family plan (which is why most of the reports are pictures being sent to their SO).

So it seems like it could be a really terrible thing, but at the very least it's not a widely spread issue (that we know of).

I've been using my Nokia 3310 this whole time with a 0.00 megapixel camera. Y'all need to be in my era. No photos, no extra shit.

The other way to avoid this happening in Australia is to be on the Vodafone network.  xD

I still use a razor phone from 2004. Get on my level.

I seriously want to whip one out and start using it to see how people react

After reading some articles it looks like its a very specific case between a family plans that are only on T-mobile. Maybe was only supposed to be an auto contact photo feature that went wrong.

Very specific and can be temporarily fixed with disabling photo permissions. While this could end up quite bad between a teen and their parents, its so specific I wouldnt blow this much as much as it has.

T-Mobile says it isn't a carrier-specific problem, so either it's a Samsung glitch that plays havoc with T-Mo or it's possible on other networks.
