Ouch that price though. Guess it's to be expected, glad to see another manufacturer committing to colour calibration from the factory. The lack of G-sync and HDR support is a little disappointing to see on a high end laptop, they seem to claim not to support the former due to wanting to extend battery life.

Glad they went for the slim bezels without silly webcam placement. Notably the 1070 max-q version is a little thicker.

Quality and QC improved? If not then it's still a trash

Also 1060MQ sounds like a bad cooling inside. 1070MQ will surely cause fire (a mere 0.5mm thickness increase won't do much)

144Hz option seems to be the best option. But yeah, quite pricey. Also would be cool to see Pro version.

I'm surprised they were able to use the same frequency as the railways and truckers...

I have always been intrigued by the Blade laptops. They seem awesome laptops with powerful hardware in a compact and sleek design (unlike most "gaming laptops). They also seem to have borrowed the sleek bezels from the Dell XPS.

Too bad they seem to suffer from poor Quality control and lousy support. Hope they can figure that out one day and I would probably buy one as my next laptop.

$1900 for the entry level specs with a GTX 1060 and i7 coffee lake + 512 GB SSD is not that bad I'd say. I think this is in line with what other manufacturers charge for these top level machines, and way less than a Macbook Pro.

Dell charges $1600 for a Dell XPS with a Kaby Lake i7 and a GTX 1050 and 512 GB SSD. So this is not that crazy of a price for much better specs.

In EU it's very expensive though. Though yeah, but I'd rather opt for like MSI GS65 Stealth myself.

But I personally only look for 17" laptops anyway.

You can get a 1060 laptop for less than the Dell. Hell, a 1070 laptop around the same price.

Cool, but at the same thickness I don't see this improving on the thermal disaster... Also QC has been atrocious for ages, and is what keeps Razer from being a really great product

That's an F in the profile pic

Sure, but usually you have to compromise on other things in those lower priced machines, such as build quality of the housing, screen quality, etc. It is not as easy as looking at the specs and calling it a day.

As far as I know, the Blade line of laptops has a full unibody aluminum housing. I know Dell uses magnesium housings in their XPS line. A lot of those other laptops just have plastic frames with maybe some metalic handrests, crappy touchpads, 1080p TN LCD screens, etc.. All those higher end materials, screens, touchpads, etc. are more costly to produce and manufacture as well.

Not saying you need the most premium necessarily. But as far as an Apples to Apples (no pun intended) comparison, these Blade and XPS machines try to compete with the Macbook Pro and try to be the best of the best in terms of materials, finish, design, AND specs. Not just specs. So in that price range of highest end machines, this is not that bad.

If you are just looking for the cheapest "gaming" laptop that has a GTX 1060 or 1070, you are just talking about a completely different product type and market.

The GS65 Stealth is a better thermal performer and about the same price not to mention Rezar's spotty QC

I got a 1060 laptop with a 250gb nvme ssd 16gb of ram and an i7 for 1000 from Dell. The reason why they don't put in a 1060 into the xps is because it would be stupid based on how small the thing is. It would melt almost immediately.

Nah the base model only has 256 GB storage it is actually not that worth it at all since it doesn't even have touchscreen...
