Don't you mean AMD nForce5?

I don’t even know what I mean. I lost track of chipset types after z270....

I swear AMD slaps that into everything.

I mean, we all knew AMD was copying Intel's chipset naming scheme, and now their CPU roadmap. It seems they're both just copying each other at this point. Also, what happened to VIA? I heard they were supposed to make a comeback this year, but I haven't heard anything since.

Maybe they just pulled the Homer Simpson walking into a bush to avoid everything going on with AMD and Intel...

Classic.

I made a signage at work that uses this picture...telling people to use the appropriate door.

I'm confused as to the purpose of the z490 chipset. It's AM4 , so not an x399 successor.

With intel , one can (somewhat) justify the need for z390 because of the planned 8 core CFL chip coming up , which will require considerably more power, and might not even be compatible with the existing socket.

But even if AMD does release a 2800x with higher clocks , there is no need for a new chipset... And i can't be anything more than an 8 core

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

There were no rumors of its existence until this week, so we'll find out if it's even real. I'd assume it's real, but we also don't know if it's a consumer-space product yet.

The only things actually copied are the letter placement and the fact that they're now using the letter Z.

Otherwise, it's AMD's naming scheme prior to Bulldozer.

Why did you come to this world?

Not getting that high. 4.6 Ghz is likely the single-core burst, though 4.0 Ghz over 12c is very likely.
