Rumor: Nokia 9 specs got leaked and suggests a high MP camera sensor and other high-end specs

Rumored Specs:

• 6.01" AMOLED QHD display
• Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC
• ships with Android 8.1 Oreo
• timely software updates thanks to Android One program
• 8GB LPDDR4 memory
• 256 GB UFS 2.1 internal storage
• 3900 mAh battery
• five integrated microphones for HDR audio (audio recordings at 24-bit audio)
• No headphone jack (comes with USB-C t0 3.5 mm audio jack adapter)
• front facing fingerprint scanner 
• fast wired and wireless Qi charging compatible
• IP68 water & dust resistant
• Dual nano sim card slot
• No SD card slot

And here's the promising thing about the camera: triple rear camera sensors

• Primary camera: 41 MP sensor with optical image stabilization, 1.4 micron pixels, f/1.5 and f/2.4 aperture, phase detection autofocus, Xenon and LED flash
• Secondary camera: 20 MP sensor with optical image stabilization, 1.0 micron pixels, f/2.4 aperture
• Tertiary sensor: 9.7 MP monochrome camera without hardware stabilization
• The rear cameras can do 4x optical zoom (not half assed digital cropping like the old Nokia Lumia 1020)
• selfie camera: 21 MP 1.4 sensor with 1.4 micron pixels, f/1.8 aperture, display flash

Sorry to the ten people who still want specs like this on a Windows Phone, stop trying to make Windows Phone happen. It's not going to happen.

 

This is just an alleged spec sheet so it's only a matter of time for HMD to say if it's true or not. Granted, those specs are quite impressive especially the camera which is way superior to what Nokia and Microsoft did with the Nokia Lumia 1020. I think criticizing Microsoft's Windows Phone platform is like flogging a dead horse but it's nice that this Nokia 9 is running Android Oreo and will get timely software updates from Google so yay to less fragmentation. I'm not confident that the likes of LG and Samsung can do timely updates as well but maybe that will change with Project Treble. The rumored specs of the Nokia 9 especially for audio and camera is like the HDR audio recording of the Nokia Lumia Icon/930 and the "lossles" zoom of the 1020 but instead of merely cropping a 34/38 MP photo, it is now hardware zoom which is nice since there's no loss in detail. I hope that this is true even though I'm probably not going to buy one because I'm slowly getting invested to Apple's ecosystem. 

 

But then, this could just be another April Fool's joke so it's hard to say. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But the storage is already big at 256 GB and I think SD card is already an overkill

I'm more interested in the phone rumored to have 5 cameras.

However, this is decent as well. No microSD slot? If you're going to have huge images, that'd be a real nice feature to have.

That's what I used on my Notes, but I think the Windows Metro UI would be a great implementation for Android.

They showed them off as an idea, but they've yet to be implemented; they require a different connection than simple microSD.

The card you linked is just a regular microSD card, unfortunately.

As far as I know, the 960 EVO doesn't fit into a phones expansion slot

That doesn't help when you don't have a data connection, or unlimited data, and still want to save large files

It also doesn't allow you to drastically increase the storage of a phone with memory that's the same speed as the integrated UFS.

I think wide adoption of UFS storage, and then having phones with memory configs of only 32gb makes the most sense. Then let the purchaser decide if they want to supplement it.
