Someone's selling an E36 318is Class II for the price of a regular one. Fuck. I want it.

 

"This model was produced only during 1994 to allow BMW to use front splitter and rear wing on Class II (Supertouring) series like BTCC in UK and STW in Germany. Around 2500 were produced to satisfy FIA homologation requirements.

The car has M42 model 1,8 l 16 valve inline engine with 140 hp. It is not the fastest car in the world but it is fast enough for winter driving and slow enough for newbie to learn track driving in proper way.

Engine is the first BMW 4 valve design outside of Motorsport M models and it is basically M50 engine with two cylinders chopped off. Aerodynamically car has same front air dam as M3 GT minus the adjustable splitter. In the rear there is Class II rear wing which can be raised by spacers, also two Gurney flaps can be attached.

This is the only aerodynamic package in any BMW during 1990's that was truly effective in racing."

The thing that is throwing me off are the M3 replica side mirrors and the M badges on the side,  since these would be Motorsport badges like on the glove box. Maybe someone stole them and the owner replaced them with those? idk

I'd go see it and check the VIN, and if it was a real Class II, I'd really really try and get it... It's 1 of 2500 and I doubt there are that many of those here in Portugal.

i got to drive a exige sport 260... 

 

of which there are only a few here in the US... ~$100kish car now lol

 

I felt bad for the owner... he originally bought it for $45k thinking it would just be a fun track car... but then the value started to go up and now he feels like it's a crime to drive it lol

Yesterday I revved the van engine trying to accelerate to 50, all the way to 5K rpm, on an ice cold engine. Of course only I would do something that heinous, right?

Bleh there has been no thread reboot there so unless something of the sort happens it's only a matter of time the cars over run the other thread completely.

Lol It took me a while to realise they were Porsche whees, but they look weirdly nice on them imo. Awsome engine though :) 2.5 Turbo, same as MK2 Focus ST, just detuned
