Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Exactly why I hate them. Get a sweet hatchback or something if you want a practical city car, don’t ruin a good truck. Unless it’s a Chevy S10, those are beyond repair.

that's why i prefer smaller trucks other than the tundra, like the tacoma and frontier. they're still utilitarian, but they still maneuver pretty well.

ok maybe on a tundra i'd keep it stock, but if i had a tacoma, i'd offroad it much more, so i might need some beefier wheels and tires.

Oh yeah. The Tacoma is pretty much my favourite truck, along with the Ford Ranger. I couldn’t see myself in anything bigger than an F-150, even those are a bit large. Small trucks and SUVs are the vehicles for me.

the only large truck i'd ever consider is a tundra, because toyota fanboy. but really the only utility vehicles i'd drive are the tacoma and 4runner, and maybe frontier if there's nothing else.

@chaozbandit I've been using "kernel toolkit" on the play store to limit my phone's CPU to 1597 MHz and the results have been pretty sweet.

This phone is definitely bottlenecked by the GPU so I lowered the resolution to 1080p with "Easy DPI changer" and underclocked the CPU as I mentioned (im not touching voltage because for some reason I get crashes if I touch it at all... Even increase it. It's like, buggy?)

And I've been seeing some real great battery life without any usability issues. Plus it runs a whole lot cooler. If I use this phone heavily at full speed it gets pretty warm lol

But yeah all I'm doing is limiting the maximum clockspeed which also limits the voltage because it's all on a curve.

So now I get pretty much the entire day off on/off use even with Crdroid and Android 7. Which you (and they) say consumes a lot more battery than fulmics. And I don't play games on my phone so I don't need all the horsepower, and I can still fly through the menus and apps just as quickly

they're pretty big, especially  crewmax editions. i sat in one (in platinum trim) at a toyota dealer and my god, it felt massive. i've never been in anything as big as a tundra so any truck would feel massive. especially compared to a tacoma. tacoma felt like it hasn't changed in terms of how big it feels, but the tundra seems massive compared.

Its because you haven't been in or drove another late model truck. Tundras may be higher, but they are more narrow and easier to maneuver in areas with limited space. Even with the crazy steering rack ratio Toyota puts in their trucks. Really annoying.

i've been in a couple silverados at a local auto show, but hey if they're more maneuverable than other trucks, i see it as a plus.

If I spend 30k on a car I want it to make some power. Even the 86 at 200hp is too low for the price. A WRX is only 100 dollars more every 6 months over the Mazda, a LOT more usable as a daily, and a ton more powerful. Just reliability is what I fear. Not necessarily the labor, because that isn't a big issue. But the cost. Subaru parts are spendy.

We'll see here in a few months. Not gonna make a move until after the year I think. Another reason why I was looking at the 86 is I could get it from work... and I may not be working there much longer considering I may have another much much much more lucrative offer I may be pursuing next week.

Insurance broker guideline #53: if it says 86 anywhere in the name, 1.5x the base rate. 2x if it's from Toyota and is RWD.

That's when you factor in the turbo/supercharger to the total price :P

Lol jk

But the Miata is a lot lighter than the 86... And actually I believe has proven faster around a track and in a straight line.

I really don't care what you get but especially on a low powered car in that price range don't get an auto, they are all pretty awful

Zach was telling me last autoX that the WRX'S are edging out the Brz's at autocross mostly because you can put 275's on them legally which is insane for the 'DS' class

That is some expensive tires tho...
