Like I said before, buying a used turbocharged hot hatch isn't smart. Mostly because they are financing anyone at high interest rates. Regardless if they can or cannot afford it. So young kids get these cars and drive the piss outta them until they get repo'd.

Lol, yeah I can see that happening. Mind you, the drive train (turbo included) in my Golf with 300k kms is all original and still going strong. A little maintenance goes a long way. ;)

Lots of people do. When I bought my car I had a really good credit score and still got shafted on the APR because "first time buyer". Banks are doing what they did to the housing market essentially. Long term loans, high APR. They hardly want anything for a down payment.

Mods are here to enforce the rules. Nothing more.

If they start removing stuff that they don't like then they are abusing their power
and i'd be happy to replace that mod if that was the case

Well my statement at this point was not about new cars but about financing ;)

If the cars are comparable the insurance is comparable. For example I looked at a 2014 FoST with 15k miles on it and the insurance was within a few bucks a year of the new car. 

And financing; again you are missing the point that if you have the cash, you should still finance as your loan interest rates are (almost always on new cars) less than what that money could be making in an investment.
