Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Name a Japanese car that isn't reliable then.

All of them in one way or another. If you want a brand that's "dead reliable" every single automaker in the world would fail. They all have their faults.

OK not perfectly reliable, just overall a very reliable car that won't give you much trouble after a couple 50 thousand miles

Take a large enough sample size you'll find cars that were trashed mechanically well under that.

I'm just saying that no brand is perfect. Most of them are not even close.

This guy's pretty hilarious. One of the few car videos he have done. He mainly does random hardware stuff (tools, etc).

i'm assuming you're worried about hydrolock? with this kit, i am a bit worried about hydrolock because it sits right in front of the F driver wheel and there's only a plastic vented cowl seperating the two. but then again, when has it ever rained in california?

Testing hydrolock:

Honestly, i think it's bullshit. I've been hearing cases where the hydrolock was so bad it bent rods left and right and caused many holes in the engine. it's worse than you think.

So, out of the cars on this list http://www.caranddriver.com/features/25-cars-worth-waiting-for-20162019-feature?mag=cad&click=yr here's what i pick:

Bugatti Chiron,

Honda Civic Type R

Corvette Zora

Ferrari 488GTB

Ford GT

Lamborghini Asterion

Lexus SC (trust me, they say it's supposed to be better than the potato second gen SC)

McLaren P14

BMW M5 (they say it should bring back the athletic poise of the long gone E39, we'll find out when it comes out)

So, what are your choices?

~snip~

The only one that really peaked my interests from those cars were really just the Focus RS.

I don't know, I like a small fast car. And when a car is so far out of reach in terms of price, then that's a turn-off for me.

Ps. The Civic Type R looks like a ricer.

Is the US actually going to get the Civic R this time? I haven't been following it too closely.

Not this year. More like around 2018 or so. But that's still quite a long time, a lot could happen, like Honda could pull the plug on the Type R stateside. But i haven't seen the Mazdaspeed 3 in that list. But it should still come.
