So as the title states it simply, What console you play on and why.

I will say this now I would appreciate serious answers/opinions without trash talking the other platform. I simply wanna know why you picked which console and why?

This is some data collection I am doing on why people got a specific console.

I'll go first, I Use an Xbox One, Why? Because it what I pretty much grew up with and what majority of my mates plus enjoyed the feel of their controllers more.

PS4 because of games like The Last of Us, Uncharted and other exclusives.  You can play nearly all X-Box titles on PC anyway so no need to have one.

PS4 as historically PlayStation has had the better RPG games.

@legacy99 & @Newenthusiast your guys saying to PS4 is primarily on titles by the sounds of it? I Don't disagree as I am jealous of some of the titles you guys have.

The Being able to play xbox game on PC via the Microsoft store was an odd addition in my opinion but I think they are trying to merge all game platforms together (Well what I think)

Microsoft is actively trying to block as many titles from going to PlayStation as they can. There will be no harmony between Xbox and PS4 anytime in the near future...

but again Microsoft has tried to make multiple advances to make some games cross-platformed such as Rocket League and Minecraft.

Hehe #PCMR.... This was more created because of people doing this whole console war shiz (tbh is stupid) on which platform is better between the two. Soo I wanted to get Data on why people bought one console over the other and vica versa.

Take it that's more for nostalgia on what I would call some good games with no added BS?

Is it more worth getting a PS4 or a Switch if you already own a decent gaming PC?

I went with Xbox One since I already had an Xbox 360, was obvious decision back then. I have had a Wii and PS3, but the gimmick of Wii wasn't my thing at all, and the PS3 even with free online just didn't cut it to justify paying and collecting for two separate platforms. Secondary console tends to get neglected and pushed into a bad light.

Having a PC (Ryzen 7 1700 & GTX 1070) doesn't conflict with my enjoyment of console gaming. I upgraded the One to a Scorpio Edition preorder One X and have been pleased with that as well. I'm currently sitting at around 200 games for the One, so expanding to the PS camp just for a couple of titles doesn't feel very tempting anymore, especially in the complete absence of decent discounts on the system itself.

Aside from seeing Snap go, there hasn't been much I have been unhappy with. The launch of One X gave me a proper scare when people started posting about faulty units, but that hasn't been the case with neither my One X or my Elite controller (which similarly appears in angry posts from time to time). In the contrary it has been a long road of positive experiences for over a ten years now. I don't know what made me pick the 360 over PS3 back in the day (probably price, cough), but I'm happy with how everything has turned out.

It's not a great buy for a newcomer, especially after the Xbox Play Anywhere, but this deep into the swamp already? I'm warm and cosy.

I'd been planning on getting a PS4 for a long time and I finally bought the Pro this christmas along with a nice 65" 4K HDR TV. The choice was clear cut for me as Sony has loads of games that I really wanted to play and it has really revitalized my interest in games. The first two games I got were Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Remastered, both which are easily 10/10 games for me.

The Last of Us remastered is an amazing title, i was also pleasantly surprised at how awesome Horizon Zero Dawn was for a new franchise.

If I want 1080P60 I go with my PC, if I want 4k HDR I go with my One X, if I want a good singleplayer exclusive I go with my base PS4.

Have a Xbox One X, love it for 4K HDR content and when friends hangout. Otherwise I picked the Xbox One X because I had a original Xbox One and I really like Microsofts controllers and XBL is a better experience and I appreciate true backwards compatibility. I had a PS4 for two years, cause I bought both a PS4 and Xbox One when they first came out, well I never touched my PS4 and sold it to a friend for $100 lol.

Sounds like you went Xbox due to friends. Is what I'm getting from this.

PS4, Switch, and PC here.  I like the amount of exclusives I can get on PS4 I used to use it as a media streaming device until I got my Roku which my PS4 still suffices as a blu ray player.

Some fav Ps4 titles

Yakuza 0

Crash Bandicoot Nsane Trilogy

Persona 5

Uncharted

Trying to get Nier and Monster Hunter later along with Devil May Cry Remastered

The only thing I really like Xbox stuff now in days is for Halo which I love the Halo universe and have read all of the books but not enough to buy a console just for it especially with the direction 5 went.

Switch is my go to portable with some indie titles digitally and physical Ninty exclusives with some third party carts like Doom, Bayonetta (soon), Street Fighter, and Dark Souls (soon).

PC I pretty much have my steam backlog.

I would agree i am quite annoyed with the way halo 4 n 5 went. Theu where not bad games but they just didnt appeal to the way bungie done the story writing before 343 took over. And they been playing catch up ever since.

Sony and Nintendo because XBox offers absolutely nothing that I can't play better on my PC, while PS3/PS4/Vita/3DS all offer me great Japanese games I can't play elsewhere (eg Persona, Yakuza, Team ICO games, lots of Atlus games, Bravely Default, Zelda, Mario) as well as a few  great American exclusive series too (eg God of War, Horizon, The Last of Us, Uncharted). Plus the XBox One was such a horribly designed console with the focus on motion controls and media at the expense of gaming combined with the lack of quality games. Gears of War and Halo were good reasons to buy a 360 but those franchises are kind of stale now, and Forza does nothing for me since I hate driving sims. Moving to XBox 360 felt like such a step up from my Radeon 8500 based gaming PC that I spent a ridiculous amount on in 2002. The upgrade seemed on par with what going from 360 to GTX 970 felt like in 2014. XBox One does have a way better controller than PS4 though.
