Fractal Design releases cases with Tempered Glass!

6 minutes ago, Jito463 said:

I'm not the one complaining about pointless things, like 51/4" bays existing.

The complain isn't pointless: They look awful. Aesthetics count for this type of cases when you're basically paying extra just to get something that adds nothing to performance at all, tempered glass. If you don't care about the looks then why comment on function over form cases and threads that talk about them like this one.

Finally! a MATX case with tempered glass, supports 2X 240 rads, minimal design and good thermal performance, definitely my case for my next personal rig build. :)

I do care about the looks (which is why I'm posting in a thread about TG cases), I just don't think the bays are a problem.  Complaining about their existence seems kind of....pointless.

A bit like putting lipstick on a cardboard box isn't it?

Their cases are just boring. Not pleasing to the eye but not offensive to it either. They are the very definition of bland and "I just need a box to put this in". Even Apple puts more effort into making something look good than Fractal does.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

I don't know how this was possible, but I ordered the mini define c case on Wednesday from Newegg with standard 4-7 day shipping and somehow it showed up today.

Wow that's lighting fast for shipping. Maybe I should try ordering something from them to see how quick it will get to my house.

It's the same as a normal define mini C but with tempered glass. Here's what I got for now.

Must.... Not.... Fap....

Really good though! I hope the rumors are true that the Regular and mini define C's can get retrofit kits to install TG on them. That would be super good on their part if they could make it happen.

The only thing preventing them from making an upgrade kit is holes needed for the rubber side panel mounts. I don't think they ship those kits expecting users to be able to drill the right holes in the right places.

Edit: Though they could do it by sending a new shroud and attachments for the upper two mounting points. Very unlikely though.

I hope they manage to do it! It probably will need brackets of some sort to slide into the current factory mounts

Looks pretty promising. I'd love to see more of these small customization options in the future from fractal. Would be awesome to have holes on top for snap on-snap off handles for carrying the case.
