Why does Reddit hate furries so much?

It's people who are sexually attracted to animals with some human-like features (like facial expressions, walking on two legs and so on). Now, some might say the sexual attraction is not necessary to be a furry but like I said before, that's a minority of people.

I  have post in bestiality subreddits, some of which are me posting content related to that and no one has used it against me. The only thing someone attacked me for was a post I did where I posted pictures of me crossdressed.

Furries are people who enjoy and identify with anthropomorphic characters, and often create their own versions of these to suit their personalities, often to exercise parts of themselves often repressed in daily life, not just sex.

That's a completely wrong definition.It's not about sexual attraction as a primary focus, that's an entirely choice aspect. There are plenty of non-sexual furries.

Putting yourself out there in such vulnerable and deviant manners is almost asking for people to do such. I mean i get a death threat for posting a modded game screen shot, but damn, you really put yourself out there.

 

There was a forum I posted in way back when I was still in the self-discovery part of teenhood that was primarily focused on bestiality, but I haven't visited that site in years because I'm not interested in that aspect of furries or animals. It was a phase.

 

The part of furry fandom I like the most is the part of combining animals with humans. I write science fiction short stories from time to time that often involve furries that were produced as a byproduct of military scientific experimentation (like creating supersoldiers or elite assassins) rather than sexual fantasy.

We can all be butts sometimes and I know I can be a PITA myself, but I don't think I'll get the blind furry hate. Like, I get it that some sects are sketch, but even furries in the same fandom don't like all aspects.

Reddit is.... IMO one massive circlejerk. Just different sides circle jerking against each other - particular with the recent US election. It just seems to be a left-wing VS right-wing showdown. 

 

You'll probably find LTT is more accommodating to it because, well, people on here understand it and in some sense probably relate to the personality and style of a furry in some ways.

I dunno, there's people on here with mega post counts which I think if it were a newbie behaving the way they do, they would be hit by the hammer but because of their post count/reputation they get away with it

Basically, you are not asking "why people hate others who do them no wrong"; instead, you are asking "why people hate others who do them no wrong when they are not like those other mofos that deserve all the hate in the world just for being there, look at them, they're disgusting, so glad I'm not abnormal like them".

But how is it any different? If anything it's worse because of the anonymity and disconnection that the internet offers... In other words, of course a forum is going to allow people to be even more liberal/unconstrained with their views, no? i.e. it's going to bring out the worst in people; their fundamental nature.

Not only is Reddit a not great place for a lot of things, but like most communities, the furry community does have it's toxic side. Whats unfortunate is that Toxic side of the furry community gets showcased on the news from time to time, thus leading to a lot more hate then what is necessary.

 

Not a furry but I have a bunch of furry friends. Not all of them find this sexual, but some find it as a fun way to dress up and meet new people, much like cosplaying is in the Anime/Comic/whatever else community is.

 

At the end of the day, if you're not hurting anything and everything is consented to, who the fuck cares? Just enjoy yourself and don't give a fuck what others think.

As for furries, I've never had a problem with them. a couple of my friends are actually furries. people generalise too much.
