What Screwdriver would people recommend to build PC?

Go to solution Solved by mightytech,

Defiantly get a gaming screwdriver. Make sure it has "booming bass" And 7.1 surround, with a million speakers in it since we all know we need that many. And make sure its USB. With water cooling and LED's. :P

First of all, which Screwdriver would people recommend to get to build a PC or if there is no prefernces than what sort of Screwdriver ahould I get: a.k.a magnetic, made of any particular sort of materials as to not short out any of my components.

No Preference use whatever you like. I have built many computers with magnetic ones and no harm has ever been done.

I find just a general good screwdriver to work fine. I use a magnetic tip-ed ratcheting screwdriver personally.

It must be magnetic. Ratcheting if you have the money.

I use a precision phillips set, some screws can just be too small for your standard Phillips screwdriver (i.e. the ones on the back of the 290X when your taking the HSF assembly off to install any aftermarket cooler).

It costs like $20 for the set form your local hardware store, includes Pentalope (always nice to mess around with your old, dead HDDs) and what not, and also magnetic.

My better half have purchased this tool kit in the past and liked it enough to purchase it again,  I know we bought at least one to keep at the office we used to work at for computer stuff for instance.

It is more than you need, but it is frequently on sale for $20.00 and has enough in it for that price I would recommend it, especially if you don't have any other computer tools.  As others have said you stand a good chance of getting by with just a Phillips, but the other stuff can save you some cursing sometimes.  Personally I love the screw grabber claw thingy it comes with.

I use an electric one with changeable speeds and torque. Makes life much easier. The changing torque is nice so it doesn't strip screws and when it's tight (as the set torque) it just stops spinning.

Something non magnetic :P, preferably a Phillips Head.

Magnetic is honestly perfectly fine.

Get a magnetic screwdriver with changeable tips, and a kit of different tips to go with it.
