When the RGB craze dies down, in a year or two, what do you think will happen? Will manufacturers simply stop adding it or will it become the default feature without too much fanfare, sorta like when 3D was pushed heavily but now it's still there quietly even though no one really using it.

i think it will become simply standard and then nobody really cares about it anymore and just uses it without a hype train that reaches from NY to LA

I think it will become standard, it only makes sense to have lighting on your products to be in all colors people want.

i don't think it will ever really go away on the gamer branded products atleast. the more enthusiast/overclocking stuff might step away from it eventually (hopefully) tough :P

It'd only make sense to make rgb standard. The whole point of it isn't to have a Skittle barf lightshow, but to be able to match colors to your theme vs having pointless numbers of SKUs for a limited range. (RGB seems to SUCK for whites, though)

The real reason people piss on RGB isn't the rainbows, but the added cost over something like the generic edgelord red leds on 1337 gamer peripherals.

Depending on what I'm doing, I like a little adjustable "mood glow" in my computers.  I don't and wouldn't always use it, but using different colors while gaming at night, I find I rage quit less, and am not as hyper sensitive when I'm interrupted playing a game.

But I like skittles...  lol

I agree about the color matching though.
