It's because everyone else got over doing something like this when they were twelve. Also, no 2699V4s so invalid.

You have no follower on your profile

If your family is supportive of you shitposting here then either you're lying or your family is weird

I have a feeling my post count will go down sometime after this, or, I won't be able to edit this post, but ....

$44K or whatever it was?  That's nothing.  I've gone well into the 6 figures, maybe even 7, with a pcpartpicker build.  (Although a million bucks I'll admit might be a stretch.)

  • For example, start with a dual-socket motherboard with 6 or 7 PCI-E x16 slots (like the ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS or Z10PE-D16 WS).
  • Add two of the most expensive Xeon CPUs.
  • Populate all the DIMM slots with 64GB Registered ECC DIMMs.
  • Put in four FirePro W9100 GPUs (or whichever one supports 4-way crossfire AND has 6 mini displayports per card).
  • Add 24 of the $5K Eizo monitors.  (Although with the new 8K Dell monitors being out now, that might be an option, if they're on PCPP.)
  • Populate the remaining PCI-E slots with the 4TB Intel DC P3608 SSDs.
  • Get the most expensive case possible, with tons of drive bays, etc.
  • Populate every drive bay / SATA port with a 4TB SSD
  • Populate every USB port with external drives that come with a high number of drives per enclosure
  • Add more 4TB 2.5" SSDs to replace the drives in said enclosures.

And so on.  I'm sure there's more you could do to jack up the price.  I've tried this before, but don't feel like doing it right now.

Would I actually buy a system like that?  Heck no!  Sure some things would be nice, but 1 - I can't afford it, and 2 - even if I could, I think my money would be better spent on other things, including getting slightly lower performing parts (or in some cases higher, for example single-threaded CPU performance - i7-7700K vs E5-2699 v4, anyone?) for much cheaper prices.
