Austin Evans "Rebuilding the $50 Scrapinator"

Just watched Austins new video featuring JayZ where they rebuild their "$50" computer because the first time round it was quite a poor 50 dollar machine. Anyway my issue with it is how is it even a rebuild of a cheap or budget pc when you're throwing in parts like an amd ryzen 5 and a 1060? Anyway it is not similar to the old build at all and is pretty shameful of them to title it so.

I guess it's intended as a "Budget PC - Using Brand New Parts Instead of Old/Used" then using the low end of AMD's new CPU's. Although looking through the pixels it looks like the installed a 1200W PSU which doesn't make sense to me at all.

That's because this was obviously was a troll video... Like when Jay said oh look, I always carry around a GTX 1080 on me. Lol. It was just to make viewers laugh, wasn't a "real" video or "practical", it was supposed to be over the top. (placing the old power supply out in the hall was a dead giveaway haha)

I haven't watched the video. I'm basing everything off the first post of the thread. Maybe I'll watch it later so I can have my own option.

He's the most arrogant person I've come across on YouTube. 

 

And not the honest, down to earth kind of arrogant. The, I'm better than you, I know more than you, I'm more successful than you, deal with it - kind of arrogance

Well how else are you going to get people talking about your video!?!? GOD! /s I've come to ignore titles and thumbnails now. I click the video, check the dislike/like ratio and top comments to make my decision if the video is accurate or not. Sometimes I skip to the end if I'm curious.

He's not as bad as you make him sound. I would agree he is bit arrogant but not the bad kind you mentioned. But I will give it to you, there are times he says things in videos and I'm like "wow really man?".

I just think he's too far up his own arse. It's not even down to his success in weight loss which some people suggest (kudos to him for that); he's as bad in his early videos. 

 

I just remember him in his cycling video picking up on people getting clippless pedals mixed up; it was obvious what they meant, but he made a big deal out of it and spent 3 minutes correcting them and telling them how they clearly know nothing about cycling - when he hadn't been cycling that long himself. 

 

He's also not one to openly and happily accept when he's wrong; one of those that just puts up a fight and tries to argue their way into some degree of being right.

he definitly has those moments yeah, but then again he is the only tech youtuber that makes a video to bash Nvidea about the titan Xp, despite them being a major sponsor of his channel.
