RadioShack in liquidation. May file for bankruptcy for the second time in two years

Sprint has withdrawn support from RadioShack after their relationship, which rescued Radio Shack in 2015, soured in January; citing a breach of covenants. As a result, General Wireless has terminated its buying, inventory management, marketing operations and franchise management teams in a February the 3^rd bloodbath; shutting its Illinois fulfilment centre and stopping payment of its vendors.

Although they have been in discordant competition by physical and online rivals, RadioShack’s current management believes a smaller group of profitable shops can survive in the long term; even if the company goes through bankruptcy a second time.

Nope, it's actually a kinda interesting store now, it's got a lot of cool DIY stuff there. Though when I checked it out, it was pretty empty...

Would be nice if they carried anything I cared for at nice prices. Radio Shack always felt like a small notch above Walmart's electronic section, but that isn't saying much.

They're OK when you need some cable in a rush and can't wait. And you have $20 for a 3.5mm audio cable.

There's this Radioshack in Madison that's about to close. It looks dead from the outside. Can't imagine the inside being any better.

We have one near where I live, though everything is just so damn expensive...

 

$5 for an on/off switch or a few 3.5mm jacks? I can get the same thing on ebay for less than half the price.

RadioShack is a perfect example of a company dying due to poor business decisions.  Past mistakes are stinging them all at once, driving them to bankruptcy.

I needed a small switching transistor to finish a project the same day, a 2N3904 cost $2, they only cost $.20 online. Everything they sell is too expensive.

Radio shack does have the small stuff that you can't find anywhere else. I was able to find the right capacitors to fix the dashboard lights on a 2005 buick century. They were cheap. Dirt cheap. The store is still open. Dusty inventory and all

LOL, Radioshack has been dead to me for the longest time. Haven't seen the stores in eons. Just now I realised that all the Radioshack stores are dead.

I wish they didn't close down all of the stores around me, there have been dozens of times in the past 2 years where I could have used a RadioShack but instead I ended up over paying online (i.e. $2 for the part and $10 for shipping).
