Ryzen 1700 vs i7 7700K - Smart Choice Again.

Joker i7-7700k numbers seem to be under-performing compare to other reviewers while his 1700 numbers is similar though.

Joker is getting slammed in the comments for this review.  Everyone else pretty much described the outcome as the 7700k raping the 1800x in gaming.

I personally bought 7700K minutes ago. I looked at the benchmarks and I wasn't impressed with single core performance.

 

Sure, multi core is great but for gaming 7700k is superior. I'm not a fanboy, I literally pre-ordered 1800X but after finding out the gaming performance I had to pass. I saved £300 and I'm getting 1080 TI SLI to compensate.

Same here.  I had a 1800x waiting at Micro Center, but I'm not picking it up.  They have sent me two reminders already.

Competition is good however, AMD is improved by SHITLOADS. I can't wait to see what they will cook up in the near future.

Completely agree!  Intel is awake now so maybe they can climbed down off of their horse and get back in the fight.

If you're using only for rendering and stuff such as, by all means go for it! You couldn't go better than picking the AMD CPU.

Yeah Intel has them beat in pure gaming power, but I think the Ryzen is interesting because what your getting is a chip that gives you still decent gaming performance with the added benefit of all those cores for rendering and streaming. For someone who games, but also does creative projects or streams then this is the perfect chip. But for those who don't, or just use their desktop for purely gaming, or mainly gaming, intel is still the way to go.

Trust me, I don't think there's going to be a shortage.  

 

They automatically pull your order after 72 hours if you haven't picked it up.  Maybe by some miracle, Ryzen will sell out and 1800x CPUs will go into high demand and I'll have one I can pick up and sell for a premium.  A completely far-fetched idea, but I'm not rushing either way.

Hey, at least they are done making shit up.  You know, like a "1800x has been proven to beat the monster 6950x in multi-threaded performance" or "the 1800x is crushing the 7700k in single-threaded performance!!!".

 

The ridiculous shit I've seen in the last couple of weeks has been hilarious. 

 

Now we're just trying to give some credit. 

 

I say all of this because it's true.  Too many people were trying to make it out to be something it was never capable of being.  

 

It is a great chip?  ABSOLUTELY.  Was there more hype than ever.  You better believe it.  Most of your worst hype trains have an AMD engine pulling the hype cars.

In this video he showed that the 7700K outperforms the 6800K in games

In this video he shows that the 6800K beats the 1800X

And in this video he shows that the 1700 outperforms the 7700K

So there is definitely something wrong with his benchmarks, because if they were correct the 1700 would be faster than the 1800X

I think he might have been trying to suck up to AMD a little since they sent him numerous chips. He doesn't normally get stuff like that compared to the bigger names in YouTube reviewers.

 

Like I mentioned earlier, his own fans are tearing him up in the comments for his review.

Well, not entirely true.  He lost a lot of credibility with that stunt.    Not sure how much he had to begin with.  Channel hasn't been picking up much at all.

TBH, I think that he will get away with it..  If he gets too much shit for it, he will say that the drivers messed up his benchmarks and call it a day

What should be noted:

 

The 1700 base is 3.0Ghz but turbo is 3.7Ghz. 700Mhz boost.

The 1700x base is 3.4Ghz but turbo is 3.8Ghz, only a 400Mhz boost

The 1800x base is 3.6Ghz but turbo is 4.0Ghz, only a 400Mhz boost

 

So, you should be able to get 4Ghz on the 1700 without an issue.

I believe all these chips are identical in one way or another.
