Got My First Car!

Just got my first speeding fine after 5+ years of driving... 65 mph after in a 45 mph zone :(. No moving violations at all before that.

That being said it was a serious speed trap. The zone had no speed limit signs for the 3 miles I was on (or maybe I missed a sign, whatever) and it was a 6 lane highway (3 lanes each direction). Don't assume the guy next to you and behind you are going the speed limit.... When I talked to the officer he said often pulls people for 85-90 mph on that same road all the time.

Oh man that sucks, however my mom knows this sad story all to well. There is a 4 lane road (2 lanes each direction) that is long, empty, and down hill... No speed limit sign except for one behind a tree. It is a 45 mph zone and she was going 65. Cops just sit there and get their prey all day long. It should be illegal. You won't drive on that road without seeing someone pulled over.

I have a 45 where I live and almost everyone I know does at least 65 on it lol. And its just one lane each way

Thanks man!!! If you knew my dad, you'd know that is the only option. Fortunately it is in better then excellent condition mechanically and cosmetically. The previous owner had it detailed before he sold it.

Good to hear! Guess you should ask him to get you a CAI, performance wireset/plugs, and exhaust for better "mileage" (though it is true if you let off the gas like I do).

It's only 3-4 years old with pretty low miles on it. I'm driving a car that's old enough to get it's own drivers license and haven't paid too much :P

My car can buy alcohol, too bad its not flex fuel.

IDK if you're a Junior or Senior in HS still, but take autoshop if you haven't. Beside learning to do some more stuff, you will have a place to do some maintenance and mods.

Could be a possibility... First thing first is figuring out how to install a Bluetooth system in the car. Do I just buy a radio to put in the dash or what?

if the dashboard supports a custom head unit it could be easier to buy a new head unit that supports bluetooth and hands free phone calls etc... But if its like my car where you cant replace the head unit than you might have to buy one of those dongles that will connect to your phones via Bluetooth then it will out put the sound on a radio frequency that you would tune to on the stereo.

I probably overdid the autoshop. Every year in highschool. My senior year I had 4 periods plus 1 period TA in auto-1.

This pic was taken at a local sporting goods store where they have dedicated full size pickup parking spots in the back of the lot, naturally I usually park there as they tend to be less populated. :P I avoid as much potential for door dings as I possibly can.
