What Was Your worst Tech Gift This Year?

Electronics tech?  I didn't get any of that.  Nothing I really wanted.  I got some kitchen stuff (the Calphalon baking dish is high-tech I guess with that crazy non-stick surface), polo shirts, a table-top light-puzzle game, and my favorite: a new wallet that only holds cards.

I'm aware. But I have (no joke) 11 dollars and some change in my bank account. And since I don't have a job since my dad won't get me my license, the next time I even get ANY money will probably be about Valentine's or April Fools, and that'll probably only be 10-15 dollars.

i got one of those cheapo power banks from the checkout line in best buy from a relative with a 800kilowatt hour storage. I literally don't think i have any use for it

Perhaps i meant milliamp hour. you're right, 800KWh is enough to power an entire home for almost a month lol. I'm able to fully charge a small bluetooth speaker if im lucky.

Both things I got were things I wanted though, I suppose my choice to get Battlefield 1 for the PS4 could be seen as questionable. I still intend on getting it for PC when I have a better computer. 

 

I didn't want much and not much is what I got and that's fine by me.

1. Dad doesn't pay for chores.

2. Nearest job is 15 minutes away by car.

3. One neighbor of mine already has time to do his stuff and the other one is just a fuckwit.

Ask your dad to be paid if you do more chores on top of what you do now

 

If it's not like a highway then 15 minutes by car isn't much faster than a bicycle. If you really want the money just go on a bike. You only have 2 neighbours?

 

EDIT: Also it's pretty easy to separate fuckwits from their money

The way my dad looks at it, my chores = roof over my head.

 

In the way of travel by car, 15 minutes at 60MPH vs a bike doing about 18-25... It's a good deal faster.

 

And on the note of neighbors, they're the only two that would even have anything to offer since the ones across the street don't really have a lawn or anything to do.

Well given that the nice neighbor has people that already maintain his yard, and the idiot ones dick around with their lawnmower and such all the time, it's fairly easy for me to tell that they don't need help.

 

And it's not like I'm really desperate for money.

worst gift: christmas cards from local politicians because next year is election year. if you can call that a tech gift as i enrolled to vote online and that triggered them.

best gift is always money. can't complain about money no matter how large or small

I'm the one that gave it this year ... 

 

Took my time to build a "free" low-end gaming PC for my brother and his son, tested it extensively, installed Steam and a few free games and also installed older games I had on DVDs.

 

Brought it during Christmas time ... and it was dead ... it turns on but there's no video out. It's not the GPU or cables (first thing I tested) and I'm too disappointed to diagnose it further. My brother has been texting me since to know when he can get it and I don't have the heart to tell him he might never get it! 

 

Wasted so many hours on that build!
