HD4870 1gb edition

clocks on the 8400gs are stock? so 450mhz core?

4870 + Windows > 5870 + Linux

AMD should go back and update their Linux drivers for old cards, our cards are still a beast for being as old as they are.  :P

I don't think that I am going to be able to run my 7800 GT because windows 8.1 doesn't seem to want to let me install teh older driver

isn't it supported on the newer drivers? or do they only go down to the 8000 series?

They stopped support @ 307.xx and they have some werid conflict like they install during the installer like everything starts working then it finished up and it fails the driver install for some werid reason I am not really going to give it anymore of my time.

i will put that in the notes column at the end because so far you are the only person using Linux and its uses open gl rather than dx which will change the score as well. also which 58 series is the card?

Also to note if you publish the document you can embed it here directly on the forums using the media tags.

Also it might save a lot of hassle if you create a form so people can submit their own information directly to the spreadsheet. You can require a screenshot URL as well so all you would have to do is manage the new entries and make sure they are valid.

publishing the document doesn't seem to work, i'm not sure why?  it just has a link to the doc. i have seen people using forms, but they have there disadvantages as well as advantages and i prefer to update them manually. :)

You didn't attach the file you only attached a directory to your local computer I suggest using something like gyazo to upload your results

CPU overclocks will make very little difference in Valley.

I wish the Linux drivers were at least on par with the Windows version for these old cards. My 5870 gets hellbent by even cards with even 1/3 of the horsepower on Windows because of the drivers. Maybe it's time to sell it and upgrade to a GCN based card.  :P

These Powercolors have pretty good cooling i was very surprised. I got both cards for less than a GTX 970 :) couldnt pass it up.

OP said there was no 4k spreadsheet when I did that. Might consider redoing it.

They are doing something, updated drivers from Ubuntu's repositories to the latest official (14.9) from AMD and holy shit what a difference.

Still not as good as Windows drivers but I was surprised to see any difference by using the latest drivers.
