Nice, looks like it does the job. May I ask how you like that case? Personally I think I would like it to have more 3.5 HDD storage.

The case is pretty awesome. For me 2 bays are enough for 3,5". I have 3 SSD's in the back (there's also an cage for SSD's). But there's enough room to include many more HDD's if you buy those  3,5" bay tower thingys (don't know the name for that, lol).

Thanks for the reply. First, Three SSD??? What is going on there?  Secondly I need room for a minimum of six HDDs. I am also unwilling to part with all the hot swap bays I have in my old HAF X.... There is no perfect case it seems. There are so many things I do like about the Air 540...

looks like my setup, but upside down ^.^ - mATX has done my head in... larger case time is soon... waiting on stock.

There is an SSD under the mobo

Honnestly I expected to gain a bit more than what I got specially on the core I had expected that little more, but it seems I need to use water cooling to get to those levels and that is an investment I am not willing to make on this card as you talk about 200 for everything I need to add it to my loop and honestly I would need to add a rad to the loop to deal with the output from this card.

dem temps with dat cooler. that 290x has now replaced your heating :P maybe try more core and a bit less memory to get over 3k. the amd cards tend to do better with the core than the nvidia's.

I went with core first before I touched the mem, I can run an bench at 1190, but it artifacts all over, anything over 1150/1160 results in artifacts. Mem wise I tried +650, but that was a full on crash.

So minus a few points here and there this is about the max I can get out of this card and mind you this is with open case and forcing constant 100% fan speed :)

Maybe when the temperature goes down to freezing and I open my window to make my room freezing I can get a bit more :P But yeah the 290 cards run hot, very hot, to bad water blocks are so darn expensive.

Well I could fry the thing and send it back because it is broken :P

Did that once when my ram chips fried on a 7970 (powercolor card uch never again) not a clue why temps where well within save zone and never OCed that thing to hard. But hey they send me a new one which I promptly sold as I had replaced it with a vapor X model already :P (Sold after of course I ran a few CF benchmarks)

Anyhow I will likely replace this one early next year or whenever I see a nice trade pop up.

Looking forward to putting a bunch of lower end video cards on the spreadsheet because its fun to push cheap hardware you don't mind killing. should have a gtx 570 to run, GTX 550 Ti maybe a 7800GT a 5450 and a 7970 :D looking forward to benching video cards instead of CPUs for once.

I could probably be convinced to run a GTS 250 a 610 and a 8400GS on the basic preset.

I am going in blind with this card its never been pushed and currently is sitting on a work bench with a clamp on it. We will see tomorrow I havn't overclocked on Nvidia in a while so its going to be really refreshing. (As well I am running a stock cooler for what ever that means.)
