Considering that your GPU core clock is quite a bit lower than most other 970's here I would say that is the main reason why your score is lower, first gen i7's are still fine and Valley doesn't need much in the way of CPU power.

The screenshot is showing 1689Mhz if im not mistaken, My card does this as well, I can get it to run 1540Mhz Boost clock in Afterburner, but it will show 1650Mhz in the benchmark, If i OC to 1590Mhz Boost clock it will show nearly 1689-1694Mhz in the benchmark.

The card may have its base clock at 1328Mhz but its boost clock will be much higher

However my card doesn't always boost correctly, or if it is then othertimes it may be over boosting, or just an incorrect reading.

I can pump up the basic and extremeHD results if you want ^.^

ill run all of them but the dead 260 and my 980 in the spare i5-750 system - when I find a spare few hours lol

Alittle bit of testing.

My top card wont run at 1185 even with 1.3V but I still need to play around with the voltage to see if that might be too high.

My bottom card needs additional voltage between 1150 and 1175 because at 1175 the score fell off my 3 points compared to the 1150 run.

Overclocking does pick up score by a good bit as I picked up 58 points just by going from 4.2 to 4.4Ghz.

280X CF 1150/1500. Still on 14.7 driver.

It also makes me the highest scoring all AMD rig on the list. :)

They listed their clock as 1328 and valley never displays the correct clocks. I'm going on what they post not what valley is most likely misreporting.

So i found out that for some reason my cpu/ram overclock was reverted back to standard settings. So after overclocking it back too 4ghz, i got much better results. So here is my new submission:

Gigabyte G1 970, Actual boost clock I seen with my OC aswell was 1540Mhz in Afterburners sensor thing. Benchmark was showing 1600+, and sometimes nearly 1700Mhz.. not sure if legit or... the benchmark.. I dunno

afterburner is correct. what was the memory clock?

Well shit turns out my 84000gs is dead and apparently setting the basic preset to run in fullscreen changes it from the preset. I didn't know that and didn't pay attention till I finished. I'm not running them again though so I'll only submit the extreme ones unless it's ok to submit the basic ones.

its a same about the 8400gs :(. i'll let you off on the basic benchmarks just this once as long as all the other settings were the same. I see my gt610 is faster than yours even though it clocked lower! it must be that mine has a massive 2gb of vram :D

try a bit less core and more memory speed on that 7970 if you can, it should do 6400-6600 if its half decent and that should get you over 2K.

Yeah! Shitty Linux drivers baby!

4ooYWMB.jpg

Seriously tho, my card's back from when support on Linux sucked. Would score 3x higher and see 4x higher frame rates on Windows.

P.S. This is why I suggested to add platform to the sheet.

i will put that in the notes column at the end because so far you are the only person using Linux and its uses open gl rather than dx which will change the score as well. also which 58 series is the card?

HD 5870, as you can see by Jumper118's post his 4800 series card squashes mine at the same preset.  :D I don't game much or play anything heavy anymore, else I would have no choice but to go back to Windows.

basic is lower res so it might be a difference between architectures. you see the same kind of thing older benchmarks like 3d mark 03 and 06.
