What to ask for for christmas?

TubsAlwaysWins

What should I ask for for Christmas? Im between a Sous Vide cooker and a GTX 1060 or something. Anyone else have an idea of what I should ask for? I wouldn't mind something to upgrade my system

Also, would my FX-8320 bottlenect a EVGA GTX SSC 1060 6GB?

A 1060 isn't much of an upgrade.

Really? I would imagine it would be better than a 270X. Might try for a basic Z170 System then

I think he saw your mobo and mistook it for a GTX 970 instead of a 970 chipset.

How is a 1060 not a big upgrade from a 270X?

And you would be correct. I shouldn't give advise when I'm tired. :P

I would suggest asking for a skylake mobo+an i3 or used i5 then asking for a used 390 off ebay as you can probably get one around 200ish.

why would he do that when he has an 8320. It's definitely a capable CPU. 390 might not be a bad idea though, haven't really compared the 2

It is a substantial upgrade. It's like comparing a 750 Ti to a 980.

I don't think the 8320 is a problem. Even if it slightly bottlenecked it wouldn't be worth the cost to upgrade it.

I wanna get off of AM3+ though and a CPU will also require a Z170 system

You don't have to go skylake. You could go z97 on has well if you need to save a couple bucks.

I totally agree there is more internal validation when I spent all my own hard earned money on my computer than people giving it to me. So ask for things that you wouldn't spend your money on
