I7 6700k bottnecking in bf1

Specs in the signature down below

 

in bf1 I get fps drops from 100+ fps to 50. My gpu is at stock and never goes above 72c and my CPU is oced to 4.6ghz at 1.345v and it never goes above 64c. Ive also seen my CPU go to 99%. What should I do? Also I have a latest driver for gpu.

honestly i doubt there is a bottleneck. you are pretty decked out. could just be poor optimization

go back to older GPU drives, that may help

I don't think so. It should never reach 99%. In gta v it doesn't  go over 60% which is also a CPU intensive game

then its probably poor optimization. gta 5 is a decently old title, so it has been optimized to its best probably by now. BF1 is still in beta i think so they probably have to still update it to help it run better

nothing the studering may have to do with both the cpu and the gpu. also what version of DX are you using

An i7 6700k should not bottleneck a GTX 1070.

 

I have an i7 2600k @ 4.7 Ghz, and an overclocked GTX 1070, and I haven't noticed any FPS drops like you're describing, l but I also haven't been looking for any.

Have you checked all the cpu threads? Maybe for some odd reason the system is negating the game the use of multiple threads, thus overcharging just one core of the processor.

However I fail to see how a cpu "overload" can affect as much as to suddenly drop fps to half, seems more like a gpu problem.

I have an i7 2600k @ 4.7 Ghz, and I haven't noticed any FPS drops like you're describing.

Are you sure it is the game using 99% of your CPU and not some other programs/malware?

Do you think vsync would help?

Before you do that, let's try to shift that "bottleneck" elsewhere. Enable DSR, and try out some of those settings. Less frames to process for the CPU should reduce it's usage, and increase the GPU usage (OGSSAA is quite demanding). I don't know if BF1 has a render scale option, if so, try that first. 

 

I have a stock clocked 6700k and a 2050mhz 1070, and I don't get the drops you have in any of the games I play, including BF4. Something seems fishy.

Have you even configured your Nvidia card? Sometimes the integrated graphics just decides that he's too brave to let others do the heavy lifting and ends up sh*tting it up, check if the game is using the integrated graphic or a combination.

Demanding games should only use the dedicated graphics card to avoid being slowed down by the integrated graphics.

I highly doubt his integrated graphics could hit 100fps in Battlefield 1. Would be extremely surprised to see that.

There is a resolution scale in game settings. Would that be the same as dsr? Or do I need to enable it in nvidia control panel?

I didn't say it was only the work of the integrated graphics I meant that sometimes it tries to work with the dedicated graphics, thus slowing it down more than actually helping.

The igpu is disabled in bios

Resolution scale is good enough. Try increasing that. Your framerate will drop, but so long as it does not drop below 60, you are good to go. Besides, rendering beyond 60fps on a 60hz monitor results in tearing anyways. If you don't mind the tearing, then by all means, get the best FPS result you can, but I personally can't stand tearing.
