Are PCI-E Riser daisy chains possible?

Title says it all, I was wondering If Pci-e Riser daisy chains are possible, and If so do they make a huge difference in performance?

You shouldn't use more than one, otherwise chances are your GPU won't be detected at all.

Short answer: quite possibly
Long answer: the amount of graphic interference you would see (from emi) would make the card useless. And as @enderman has already stated, there is always a chance it won't work at all.

If it is shielded, yes, if not, most likely not

I know it is possible over short distances (the Asrock One M8 comes to mind) But i wouldnt trst something like that over more than about 6 inches.  EMI is a huge concern.  Theres a reason these slots are soldered to your motherboard.

Most of the time yes, it needs to be shielded and very high quality to make sure the signal remains intact.

Longer is much better than daisy chaining because the connector is a big part of the signal degradation problem.

i mean thats how the bitcoin farmers used to do it , but i wont reccomend more than one chain (1+1 cables)

As mentioned it can be a hit and miss at times, higher chance of success with shielded cables, but as for extra long PCI-E extension your best option would be to get the professional risers from 3M.

I'm unsure if this solution will work, but you can get PCIe "switch" cards that sometimes have ePCIe cable connections on them, which means that you can extend your PCIe cards as far away as you really want, assuming that you also have a backplane for the card to sit in.

I tried with 2 different PCIE extension cable brand, and it works for mining. But it's really horrible setup

hmm i would put it throw the pci slot and get a gpu mount or make one imo. a longer 1 cable one be better but that cost money. and if your thinking on using an pcie 4.0 gpu later on you have to buy a new cable but im not 100% if its needed for mining thow.

Hi hey and hello am like a decade late but i was wondering if i got 2 pcie gen 4 (i already have them) can i use it for gaming ? Cuz i need a realy long raiser cable for the lian li top side gpu mount but i cant a afford a long one
