What temperature do you let your CPU Get to while folding?

I havnt figured out how to overclock my Opteron 4280 yet, so im pretty solid at 50C.

If i figure it out ill likely overclock a bit

Keep pushing hardware to the edge of stability or until you see diminishing returns. Don't be afraid of the heat, thermal limits are put in place to prevent damage.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

its 20 to 25 degrees inside

geez, somethings not right there, maybe you should try reseating it with some new thermal paste

And then you realize your shoes are filled with peanut butter, what then?! >:L

My 3570k gets to just below 60°C with Antec 620, push/pull with corsair sp-fans at 12V, but during the nights i lower the fan and pump to 7V and then the temperature gets just over 70°C but it is much more quiet :)

the only reasons why it gets so hot are:

- 3.2 stock -->> 4.4 (130watt tdp to 220watt)

-  h100 not powerfull enough

- maybe just got unluky and got a hot one that pro overclockers would bin.

i don't think anyone can help me except saying i should lower me clock or get costume W.C. or tec/phasechange or combo of those

Just kinda curious. I have a h100i and on quiet I get to the low 70s with a liquid temp of 43. Should I retry a thermal paste install and see if I can get the CPU temps down?  The 80*f ambient doesn't help much either.

Best bet - upgrade the fans to some that have excellent static pressure rating - Like noctua NF-F12's - not sure of your clearance, but if you can, also go push/pull - normally this might only get you a degree or two, but when folding, this may actually net you a few extra degree and be worth it...

H100 didn't come with very good fans - and a 3930 is a pro chip - if you OC'ing it and cranking it it, you need a TOP quality cooler.

I would recommend either buying new fans for it, top quality static pressure based ones, like the NF-F12's, go push/pull if you can or even upgrade to a better cooler. H100i or H110 even better? Or, get yourself a large tower cooler like a Phanteks, Thermaltake Silver Arrow or the Noctua one.

i turned it back down to 4.2 and changed some fans.

i'm using push-pull with corsair sp120 preformance and the stock fans that move allot more air than any of the other one's i have.

i'm getting around 75-85 on 100% cpu usage

A year and a half of Boinc-ing on an i7-2630qm in my Dv7 for about 12hrs a day.

Before replacing the crappy stock thermal paste it would idle at 40*c and as soon as you start Boinc on all cores it would spike to 100*c and throttle back.

After replacement it idles at 35*c and full load is about 77-86*C. It stays in turbo mode at 2.4-2.6ghz all day.

The fans kinda do their own thing, so I got a Stanley Blower on it and the power brick. I'm honestly impressed that laptop has taken that abuse for this long.

Can't monitor temps but the socket is 50*c and thats usually higher than the core temp (when i lock the cores again), im fairly confident it doesnt touch 60 which would be my limit. the plate and the heatpipes practically on the cpu are finger temperature, this in a 22 degree c ambient

my e5200 at 3.33ghz peaks at 59*c this is all when folding on maximum
