The Xbox One S isn't the Xbox One Scorpio, it's the same hardware as the original Xbox one with 4k video output and HDR in a smaller form factor.

It is not 4K gaming.

 

It is 1080P at 60 FPS gaming.

It is 4K video playback, such as Netflix or Amazon Video

We're talking about the upscaling specifically. Not the GPU.

 

Oh, and the S does. Why Sites have been screaming not to buy the Xbox One that's on sale. Microsoft snuk in a hardware change.

I have not seen a single article implying the S will have the same GPU as the "Scorpio".

The S has 6 tflops (or so I was led to believe)

The 480 has 6 tflops

So I assumed the S has a 480

No it is 1080 upscaled at 30FPS to 4k. Nothing is running native 4k

Ans: they don't. they just upcoverting the image. to 4k. and is in "Cinematic" 30FPS

All console use APU. they dont have GPU.

It doesn't play games at 4k, it only plays video at 4k. A feature that it really should have had from the start.

Everyone keeps saying it doesn't play games at 4K, watch the videos. It upscales sure, but that upscaling is like nothing we've seen before. Let's hope this comes to PC too. A mid range card would be all you'd need.

Scorpio will likely use Vega. SOCs won't use overclocked parts. Polaris 10 needs to be overclocked to reach 6TFlops. Will more likely use an underclocked Vega chip.

 

PS4 Neo will probably use an underclocked Polaris 10 chip.

This video has nothing to do with the XB1S.

 

The XB1S is essentially the same as the original XB1 with some slight changes to clock speeds and such. It's slightly faster than the older system, but not as fast as the PS4 Neo will be.  

 

The transition to the XB1S from the XB1 is similar to the changes made to slim models of the 360 from the original. Smaller, cooler, slightly faster, and more reliable.

Well, the 360 does have a GPU that is stronger than a X1650 Pro... So yes, the XB1 is significantly better than your grandpa's PC.

Nope, the Xbox One S has a new GPU, Microsoft has been careful to hide this in fear of losing sales on the original Xbox One they still need to sell.

While you're correct that it's a "new" GPU the performance is not that much better. It's no where near Neo levels.

 

The upgrade path is still the same as the changes from the original 360 to the slim models. Internals are shrunken down and are slightly faster, but provide no real performance boost. 

 

You can keep living in your world where the XB1S is on the same level as the Neo, but in reality it isn't.
