yeah all the second and third timings will go to shit on hynix  you would need a decent psc 2x2gb kit or a nice samsung 2x4gb to get decent scores.

well as long as it can get over 2000cb on phase and be fairly stable for 3d benching i'm not fuseed. new platform and stable will be the issue. will be going for a gigabyte or asrock board most likely.

So a 68% overclock (5.7GHz +) should get 1188cb up to 2000cb with perfect scaling of course.  Sounds completely doable.

lol no chance  from what i've heard 5.8-6.2ghz on ln2 so with an 8 core that will be 5.2-5.4ghz on phase

Thanks! Didn't go well though. I can run up to 1.55v and stay under 90c with cinebench but I can't get over 5.0ghz.  I do need to reapply my LM on die though, temps have gone up 10°c for some reason...

 

I'm quite the noob but I've tried about everything I can think of including but not limited to; high and low inputV, vrm frequency, base clock strap, spread spectrum, internal pll ov, about any other bios seeing that claims to help OC.  Also running ram at 1600mhz, opening the window and letting my room hit 50°f.

 

I'm thinking 5.0 is as far as water will take me if anybody thinks they can do better, I live in Nebraska and I'll supply coffee/beer!  I'm also open to suggestions I guess

right in the middle  There is a map on Hwbot of overclocks. maybe you can find someone to meet with on there. ik there is a meet soon but idk where cos merica is big.

Oh man, that'd be great! I had no idea.  Nothing interesting ever happens where I live but I'll check when I get home and see where the closest one is. I think it'd be a great excuse to road trip, though my significant other might feel differently  haha

I think its a good idea to remove my Xeon X5450/E5450 scores from the spread sheet. Turns out that my Xeon has been faulty pretty much since I bought it, after several hours trying to find out why I was having DDR2 with heatspreaders overheating at 667MHz/1.7V, why the computer would only boot into safe mod in any OS (it wouldn't even run Linux), and why when trying a re-install of Windows it took hours for anything to happen (something that's been a royal PITA since I was using the P5K VM), and why it would randomly show 111^oC as its temp (despite the heatsink+mobo being warm, and no thermal shutdown occuring). Installing my QX6850 (multiplier set to 10 atm), solved all problems, and its also runs Windows (on an SSD)+games far better.

Found my memory overclocking problem, my 2GB HyperX stick is disgusting. Both of my Team Xtreem Dark 1GB sticks run at 1066 with the same timings and voltage (2.10V) as my Corsair XMS stick. The hyperX stick however has far looser timings, 7-7-7-20@2V

Also, how the hell do I change the command rate on a P5Q Deluxe? Because its currently hurting benchmark scores.

I highly doubt chipset's IMC will run on 1T with those settings (1066MHz, CL5).
I recommend checking "FSB Strap" and lower RAM's "Performance Level".

You can't change the command rate  on any Asus boards apart from the Rex I think.

I'll have to look at getting a motherboard with better DDR2 overclocking support then. And I'm loving the improvement that I'm seeing over dual channel DDR2 800 @ 4-4-4-14 2V. Once I get a better cooer plus thermal paste, the scores should be quite a bit higher (and I almost had the 2GB kit running at 1203MHz).

The Rex is the only board that's set 1t. It's not a t holding you back at all lol.  Even the ep45 extreme does set the command rate.
