well that's isn't overclocking
that's art ! , well done jumper , the best OC i have seen
i know some uses liquid nitrogen but i haven't seen the cpuz results .
i hope if you can try on 6950x you will get fantastic results
unfortunately even if i OC my cpu
i won't be able to use it 24/7 at high speed

you will be able to keep your oc 24/7 if you leave the power saving things on it will downclock when its not using all the cores.

mine is set to 1200 mhz , is that good enough or can i go lower since it will be idle

6950X was a total fail for anything but 3D Mark.

with speed step on it will automatically go down to 800mhz at idle

i hope i won't regret it , since i am not planning to upgrade my WS before 6 years at least

You can find his bench score on hwbot :P, and take his advice, oc to the max at under 1.4v, shouldnt give you any problem even on longevity. then work on tightening ram timings, that way you will get a snappier system, which is what i think makes the most difference for daily usage.

I can't tell you that yet.  It's getting too hot because I had to use shitty TIM due to running out of good stuff. 

 

I've got some better TIM on the way.  If I can get it moderately cool and stable with the new TIM, I'll go ahead and delid it.  It's great at 5.1 already, but a usable 5.2 is my goal.

Call me crazy, but the 7700k's single core is mighty nice!!  I still have to bin 4 other 7700k CPUs, but this one isn't looking to shabby at all.
