bit annoying that it won't run anything 1mhz fsb faster under load no matter how many volts i give it, but it will save validation files all the way upto 5.45ghz. i think i'm going to try the 2nd fastest E5200 as well

Am so sad

 

That fan I had taped to the duct as an "intake" wasn't even needed.

 

I was running 25c idle on GPU with the fan, took the fan off and made a cardboard piece with a hole in it, took the duct and put it thru the hole, taped it up to seal it, then put the whole cardboard & duct in my window, closed window as far as I could to seal it.

 

Now idling at 22c on GPU without that fan, with duct directly against my window-screen.

 

 

Dam I wish I would of tried this sooner.

 

If it gets down to 7 or 8c tonight, load temp should definitely be pretty low then, maybe sub 20.

under 20c under water would make it so that you cant enter oc esports ambient rounds :D pretty cool. not quite as cool as my xeon x5460 which is currently chilling at -60c. :P

plane ticket is probably cheaper. or a fat gpu pot and some dry ice.

a 980 under dry ice should be around the same speed and there isn't much point having a lightning or a kp without a pot anyway, you'll only get stuck at ~1530mhz.

once you get a pot you can never go back. just get a gt610 for your 24/7 rig, its only used for submitting scores and posting here :P

ok. how about you get a pot and then buy some older cards to start with a keep the 980. you have gone backwards before when you when from 970 sli to a single card.

that is a very interesting cpu, mainly because its really rare.

That's why I wanted to give it a go when the opportunity arose :P

 

It cost the real owner of the CPU £150 which is less than a 4690K so I said go for it.

 

(he's buying my Z97 from me)

 

But I'm building and testing it for him because his track record is kinda bad.
