Lucky you, for some reason bf4 won't stop crashing. Says it's some sort of driver issue, but I've tried different ones.

You started overclocking this yet? Should be able to easily get some 900 scores.

If you found one for $60 you did quite well, ebay?

If I had it to do over again I would have me a W3690 but I will settle with the X5675 I have, It scores upper 900s on moderate voltage and can overclock as high as 4.75GHz pretty decent little chip.  I just picked up two X5690s but they won't be overclocked they are going in the Mac Pro, they are soldered CPUs as well and just got delided, hopefully they survived. I will be swapping them into the Mac Pro in the next couple days. It should provide a 175% performance gain. Geekbench from mid 12000s to 32000s hopefully if I didn't kill the chips. Cinebench scores in the dual cpu 2.26GHz Mac Pro is around 750, hoping to see something in the neighborhood of the 1400s when the swap is done.

@DunePilot I actually got the 980X from reddit.com/r/hardwareswap. What will you be doing w/ the Mac? I was wanted an X58 Mac Pro. I was planning on buying one and taking the Quads out and putting in Hexas. But the prices on Ebay are ridiculously expensive.

I'm going to have $2100 total in mine I think. I need to add it all up again but I think $2100 is fairly close and it will be an absolute beast. Music production. I have a descent music studio at the house most people would be proud of. It is much cheaper than most of what you could buy and will be about the equivalent of what $7000+ would get you from the apple store, plus it doesn't look like a trashcan. The only downside is no thunderbolt.

If only I could overclock them. I'd have to get creative, such as bootcamp into Windows and using SetFSB. Lol.... not worth the hassle. Pleased to see 1600s though to say the least, anything over 1400s I was going to be pretty content with.

Alright, wanted that top 20 spot, all I am pushing it for now. Had to crank the fans up to 3300RPM. Fan control is about all I can do on a Mac, hopefully this screenie will suffice enough for someone to update the spreadsheet.

@DunePilot There was a guy on OCN who overclocked a QX6800 to 3.75Ghz on a locked dell board. I bet you could do the same.

Hmmm anyone got any ideas about making a cheap vice? I want to delid the G3258 and my 4770k finally but Razer is scaring the fuck out of me with thinking about the risk of damaging the FIVR on them.

Hmmm anyone got any ideas about making a cheap vice? I want to delid the G3258 and my 4770k finally but Razer is scaring the fuck out of me with thinking about the risk of damaging the FIVR on them.

Can't you just buy a vice from a diy store? They're like £20 here.

1.55V watercooled at ambient temp +24c

 

it goes faster with rads in ice bucket. only got one extra point by going to triple channel memories
