Efficiency any good for 4.2 I'm not much of a CPU bencher

its not bad, but its not great. i should do a guide on how to get maximum efficiency in cinebench. its quite easy tbh.

I read somewhere that Cinebench really leverages the extra MHz on RAM. If that is true I should perhaps do a comparison in how for example 2400-2800-3000-3333MHz DDR4 affects the scores. That would make for an interesting thread.

step 1: buy 3000 mhz ddr3 6-10-6 on air at 1 volt

step 2: unplug monitor, keyboard, speakers, mouse, ethernet and GPU

step 3: profit

srsly tho, if you do one tag me in it so I can read.  Pretty sure I already got everything down-pat but will be nice to see a second opinion.

So, I thought I'd come back with an updated score after I did a bit of... Overclocking on most of my components,

Got my CPU back up to 5.1GHz on a core, working on the others now, Just thought I'd compete with some good friends :) @Lays I might be able to catch up to you on the Single Core if I can get my RAM any higher :3

*CPU @ 5.1GHz/4.9/4.9/4.9 (Yes I do know in the screenshot it says 4.9 I assure you one core is at 5.1GHz)

*Memory 2133MHz

try overclocking you cache to get more performance too its only at 4ghz. ideally you can get it to be 1:1 with you cpu core speed, but even 4.4-4.6ghz will make a difference.

600MHz Bus hype?

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. 600MHz Bus hype?

nearly. it was very close. 1.38v on the fsb and nb for those scores. didn't try to go for reference clock unfortunately. might get a cpuz validation for reference clock and cpu frequency before i change it out. i didn't have internet plugged in for those runs. just swapped the ssd and psu back the the pro turbo now to test C2D 6850 on air, after seeing that it was at stock on the spreadsheet!

yes i got the same glitch. its because it thinks it is 4x cpu for some reason. just ask a team captain or a mod to change it if you can't fix it by editing it yourself.

per core overclocking does NOT work

all of your scores were at 49x even your single thread score

you can set the top ratio for 55x if you want, it will still run at the lowest ratio (49x)

What about setting it to run on 1 or 2 cores in bios?

you will always run at the lowest ratio

if one core is enabled at 49x  you will get 49x

if two cores are enabled and one is set for 50x and the other 49x, you will run at 49x on both cores

1366 xeons are the only ones I know that will do true per core OC but only on a single thread load if your bios is set proper

Hmm, that is good to know, I still don't understand why Intel still allows per core OCing then on later CPU's if they will always run at lowest ratio.

I believed all the per core hype myself when z87 launched

I was under the same assumption I even thought I was scoring higher using per core settings

all my results are in this thread prolly first 100 pages. I realized later it dont work
