....two?

Edit: I was furiously calculating in ALL the bases, then I facepalmed.

Hint: to all the programmers, stop the hexadecimal and binary calculations and focus on 0000 = 4.

You know it's a dumb question because the sentence at the top is made up just to make you feel bad if you don't get it.

[spoiler Spoiler]I actually saw this some time ago!

And how would a programmer solve this in an hour if one has to solve the problem before coding anything?!

you know it's dumb question when one isn't even asked!

How do you get the answer?

most people just used google to find out what the original answer was, but because the basis of the riddle (it is not trivia) is ambiguous you'll either have to look for a pattern or any answer that reconciles most of infered reasoning without being obviously contradictory to it's methodology. also  It's not a mathematical problem, because it does not follow the rules of math. So don't try that.

Really people, if you want a better way to waste time, Redtube has new videos that need watching.

And for those of you who consider that productive, there's always that cookie game or whatever.

I didn't say the sentence is the question. I said the problem was.

I know, I was just pointing out there was no actual question either.  :)

Some of you got it but the answer is 2.

You are supposed to count the circles that may be inside the numbers, for example the number 8 has two circles inside it, 9 and 6 both have 1 while 3 has no circles.

So 2581 would have 2 circles both coming from the number 8.
