Could be a Wii plan too. Bring the hype to a boil then flood the market once AMD is able to stock shelves. Who knows. Ether way It's not cool.

Of course, those cards are by no means bad, just wayyy too expensive.

Fermi is suprisingly close to Kepler too.

I'm sorry... I couldn't help but notice that you're insane and should stop whatever you're doing forever. o_o Uh... Top tier Kepler is the GTX 780Ti drawing 250 watts. Top tier Fermi is the GTX 580 drawing the same.

Now can you tell me please why in the hell you think Fermi is anywhere close to Kepler?! O.o

AMD took the right approach, more performance for the same money. Nvidia took the dick approach, charge for the level of performance, not the name on the card. IF they keep that philosophy we can expect a 900-1000 dollar 1080ti. At that point it won't matter if the driver support is improved on Maxwell vs what happened to Kepler.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

@Bcat00 You know why Nvidia cards still sold better than AMD cards? Because marketing a lot of people just think oh Nvidia that must be good and don't even look up performance against other cards, if everyone looked up price to performance Nvidia would be in AMDs place right now, because they really only have their top of the top end cards and it is not even always those they are best at, just look at the 290x vs 780ti, sure the 780ti was better in the start, but later the 780ti was worse than the 290x.

Stop beating the marketing drum. It was prebuilt computers that sold 970s. If you looked just at DIY I would bet you AMD and Nvidia were equal.

Bro the 1080 is already 1000$ xD I wish that I was joking, but when they just came out you could with no problem get a 1080 for $1k (here in Denmark)

Well I considered that, since I say people see Nvidia and they think it is good. That also goes for pre build desktops.

By in large people listen to their friends. Look at AMD, Bernie fans aren't as ravenous xD

I was a AMD user before it was cool. I went with AMD because of the price, but my friends went with Nvidia because they could brag. Now AMD has both. If they use that wisely, then they could make a serious dent in Nvidia's market share. Which is better for all of us because Nvidia is trying to raise the ticket prices.

Then you know the dark days when nVidia fans roamed the internet looking for non believers. Now I have to show my papers to officers dressed in red... And this "rebellion" nonsense. Oi, I long for the days when we all picked on consoles...

We still do m8 xD

Yeah there where some dark years with nvidia fans, good thing that I never really talked tech with other people at that time, I just read about it and stayed away from places where I saw them.

My 580 dumps way more heat into my room but is silent and is as cold as my 670, the 670 is violently loud however.

Furthermore they like their planned obsolescence, where they simply abandon optimization for 1 generation old cards. Get ready to see Maxwell crash and burn over the next year.

I'm only planning to upgrade 2017/2018, so will keep a close eye on my 980's performance with each driver release...

Man, if AMD pulls out the RX 490 and it basically matches a 1080 for $300 less... well, shit. I better sell the 1080 as soon as I could.

The 490 should trade blows with a 1070, taking the RX 480 pricing into consideration I'd guess the 490 to be priced at 300 too though. The fury replacement will square off against the 1080.

Seeing how much the 480 can overclock though... according to leaks that's Fury X, stock clocked 980 Ti levels... I'd think that the 490 stock would indeed, trade below with the 1070. Overclock it though, I'd move that up to a 1080. Man, AMD please release 480X and 490X, that extra boost in core count would be nice.

xD seriously? 9 days dude. And all this BS ends. It's pure AMD marketing, they're using your willingness to fall for rumors and an NDA to boost the hype for the RX480. Remember how the Fury X was going to overclock? How it would beat a Titan X? Remember how AMD fans didn't hold AMD accountable for those rumors?

Technically, though I'm betting the overclock reviews like those for Pascal take a day or two to hit. Though I know a few reviewers with blue ball wanting to squish these rumors, so you may be right by saying 8.

I'm rooting for AMD, 99% of my frustration with the rumors is in the end they hurt AMD. Keeping it real and realizing the RX 480 is a fantastic deal is way better than thinking it will compete on a performance level with Pascal. That will not happen, and when it doesn't those who don't know any better and fell for the hype will be disappointed and go crawling back to Nvidia and their price gouging.
