Did they just say "fuck it, can't be arsed" and stopped doing anything with Kepler?

 

I want to show you all some graphcs, it's not really an issue for me as this 670 is a stop gap to the RX 480, but i'm intrigued.

 

1080 release.

 

 

290 release.

 

 

 

 

Second graph Kepler is where it is supposed to be, first graph, all AMD cards have gone up 1-2 tiers?

AMD had more headroom for optimizations in their drivers. Nvidia didn't.

yes, kepler has been gimp'd twice in a row now, first by Maxwell release and now by Pascal release

it is really sad to see that 3-5 year old AMD architectures can still be fine tuned and optimized to match the five miracles of nVidia

nVIDIA are not actually gimping, they seem to have just completely stopped developing for Kepler altogether.

well you see the humans perceive all things in relative to others

if GCN has gone up in performance that is the same as Kepler has gone down in performance, so it doesn't really matter

well, no, performance going down would mean less FPS in game than before. (on the same settings!)

fermi has more compute performance

this is what happens with brute force approach - you just throw more compute at the problem and it doesn't require so much micro-optimization anymore to be good enough

670 destroys my 580 in BF3 though, can't even use MSAA in that game at Ultra and it will dip below 60FPS sometimes, Ultra with 2xMSAA on the 670 and it's always above 60 and averaging around 90.

Well Nvidia has ALWAYS BEEN A GREEDY BITCH nerfing Kepler and trying to make people Maxwell or Pascal , AMD was never like that i have more trust in AMD since they are a better company but imagine having 3dfx in 2016...

it probs have to do with amount of VRAM at that point
