The article was positive, what he took from it wasn't. He assumed they meant only 390(X) got performance upgrades. What's really going on is that everything got performance upgrades, just the 390(X) got the best performance upgrade.

They probably just used the 390 as a reference because it's their most popular seller. Kinda like the 970

I expect the same performance boost for the 290(X). Considering you can mod (vBIOS) of some 290X and make it into a 390X

That is what they used to test this driver, you expect them to test on all cards for such a minor release?

Everyone get performance boost from what i've read in another forum.

they don't need to

they could've used different wording, like for example "performance of Doom increased across multiple Radeon products" and list R9 390 as an example - they did this in the past

Even though they only mentioned one GPU, it applies to other AMD GPUs.

For example last update was for Forza Apex and it only mentioned Fury X, but you needed that driver to even run Forza Apex, it does not matter what GPU you have. This is not the first time, in fact they have been doing this for years.

Performance for AMD cards was decent on Alpha/Beta build but went down the drain on final build.

If you look at your own previous thread @zMeul you may notice that a 390 and 290X is scoring LOWER then a R9 380X.... that is a MAJOR reason for concern. So i unerstand why they hauled ass to make sure the 390(X) cards in particular did better.

Can confirm, running a single 390x. Now i'm getting 60fps flawlessly on nightmare settings. Thankyou based AMD gods.
