    • Nah.....We want full metal build graphic cards... Those look like some toys that you buy for a 5-year-old...

I found this from the internet, source says that this is gonna be the new design zotac did for gtx 1080/1070,  not sure whether it is accurate or not...

Just gonna leave it here.....

Edit: the newer version of firestorm.. aka OC software.

And the the color of the light is gonna be changable. Whether it is RGB we don't know...

Edit 2: I think it is confirmed.

When in the case looking slightly down you'll only see the backplate.

That's probably because of the builds that will put the card on its side, back-plate facing the window. Those builds usually connect the PCI extension cable on the bottom.

But a small percentage, what about the other 95% which have the GPU mounted on the side?

I don't disagree with you, I just mentioned that's probably their reasoning. I have the same exact gripe with my m.2 ssd being upside-down on my X99 board :(

Well, since they added all that eye candy to the back side they are probably thinking people will choose that over the fan side. Not sure :P

I didn't think about that, yeah that is very weird unless building on a case that has everything on the opposite side. Weird design choice from any perspective anyway.

to be honest, if that was a real product, it would be a big middle fingers to those who wanna SLI with their cards side by side

because those backplates are thick AF

One four hour meeting with Marketing, who will obsess over the Pantone color number of the lights, will put your schedule back two months. So, yes, it was a rush job. :P

http://cdn.wccftech.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/ZOTAC-GeForce-GTX-1080-PGF-Edition-Graphics-Card-1-635x402.jpg

The ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1080 will be part of the new PGF series where PGF stands for Prime Gamer Force.

Quote

The card uses a dual slot design and will be powered by dual 8-Pin connectors which means that overclockers will get full freedom in utilizing the maximum power of this board. The card sticks to the reference display out put scheme. Overall, the card looks great but we can’t wait to see more of it. The ZOTAC GTX 1080 PGF being a custom design will hit retail at a price close to the $699 price point due to its non-reference build.

IT looks more like renders, but if this is actually what it looks like, i think it looks fucking sick :)

imagine having RGB instead of thoes two colors though
