What's on your wishlist?

R001

Sites like Amazon and maybe other sites too have a feature called wishlist, you list the the things you wish to buy but will not buy now for some reason like being low on cash or waiting for a birthday to come, most of you know this, I am sure.

My question is what is on this wishlist, let's keep it about tech stuff.

Honestly I am asking because I always wanted to give money to someone visiting USA to get me something from Amazon, Newegg, Adorama, etc. and it never worked out but now I have a close relative there for a couple of months and suddenly I have no clue what to ask for, maybe this thread will help...

Thank you in advance.

This. I need the graphical horsepower and I like Nvidia's software. My case is messed up and does not properly fit my radiator, and my power supply cost $20, so you can guess that someday it will catastrophically fail.

The only thing tech related on my Amazon wishlist is a Cisco SG 200-50P switch

Call me a noob, but what is a Gigabit switch actually for? Turning one ethernet connection into many, such as a USB hub?

That sounds amazing. I definitely need to go to a LAN party someday.

Good luck with the LAN party!

I am not sure I want to upgrade my PC at this point except for RAM and SSD, don't want to ask for large parts (bother to carry with carry on luggage), SSD is a waste of money in my motherboard case, maybe a better GPU (budget & small frame) but that might need a better Motherboard too...

CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz

get another 4 gb of ram, trust me it'll make a world of difference, a friend of mine is also on LGA 1156 (i3 540) and I got him a 32 gb ssd just to see what it'd do and he's loving the performance boost. I'd recommend you also take a look at the GTX 650 Ti Boost for your setup (or an equivalent amd solution however I know the 650 ti Boost has amazing SLI performance in case you wanted to get a second one later on once you upgraded your entire rig or so)

It would be better to go live there in this case   , what headphones you have in mind?

A decent pair of headphones and a soundcard.

I forgot about Headphones, I was checking these last year http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M50-Professional-Monitor-Headphones/dp/B000ULAP4U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1378216676&sr=8-1&keywords=audio+technica

 or the S model.

I had Audio Technica before and they were great but they were too small for my head size or too small for my ears? any idea how to check that? that part ruined the experience.

For RAM it is better to have the same brand to save myself headache so I need 8GB, my motherboard 6GB/s ports has a known issue so I am left with 3 GB/s ports so not going to invest in SSD, I am not sure about the GPU it is an endless marathon and I can never afford the newest thing which is the best choice for long term goal, I will probably get something like the one you mentioned, if I decide to upgrade, or this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202004 , thanks for the advice!

How much money do you have to spend on this?

I have 850 USD, 150 of them on amazon. I don't plan to spend them all but I will if I find a must buy list, I will be aiming at small and light products.

I used my music headphone for PC, I don't use mic, if I want to have a mic too I might look at Logitech like G35 or SteelSeries Siberia V2, based on reviews they seem to be good.

about ram having to be the same brand, that's not really true I have 2x 4gb kingstons 1333 MHz and 2x 1gb corsair vengeance 1600 MHz ram chips running fine all overclocked to 1600 MHz, no instability what so ever, same goes for the computers my friends have, they all got mixed ram as they upgraded in time. I've even went as far as to mix my 4gb and 1gb chips into each channel so I have 5 gb ram in channel A and 5 gb ram in channel B.

as for the 6 GB/s sata ports, that sucks however I still think you'll notice a difference even on 3 GB/s get a cheap SSD and just test it out since you're buying from america you're saving quite a load especially in SSD prices (compared to where I'm from anyway)

and then for the graphics card, please do not take a 1gb card as you will regret it sooner than you think.
