BF4 or Crysis 3 for MP?

Rayhaan Jiwani

Hello Forum,

As you read in the title, I want to know which game I should buy for multiplayer. I'll be playing on online servers (official ones) and both the games are on sale for a reasonable price ATM. Can you guys please tell me which one I should get because both games are a little old and especially Crysis so I'm wondering whether people will be playing them even today. And if you're wondering, the only FPS I play ATM is Blacklight:Retribution. @ShadowCaptain @NeatSquidYT

Thanks! :)

I'm not sure as I just bought Crysis 3 myself and haven't tried the online but BF4 servers are pretty dead. I haven't played in like 6 months but last time I played every server you get on is nothing but hackers and there are very few server that even have people that are playing on them

There aren't many servers indeed, but there are some gaming clans that have a good and steady population on their servers. (Might only be for the TDM and conquest games though)

Both games are pretty dead, but at least that means that they are pretty much equal xD

BF4 has at least a handful of active and almost always full servers, C3 is well... a bit less.

So should I get BF4 and can you guys recommend any other games under £11 which have a good multiplayer? FPS if possible.

A lot of people don't play the normal base game anymore, BF4 CTE (*Community test environment) has a lot more people playing.

OP, remember to follow your topics.

I would definitely buy BF4. Whilst Crysis 3 is very pretty, the game itself isn't that interesting, so I don't dare even think about what the multiplayer scene is like. BF4, meanwhile, is still very active.

Another good game is CS:GO. Very hard to start, but it becomes fun a little while in. https://www.g2a.com/counter-strike-global-offensive-global.html

Guys, what about BF Bad Company 2? Seems like there's still an active community and its dirt cheap but a great game. Plus I love the destruction in it. @Atmos

Battlefield 4 doesn't appear to be dead to me. But the Battlelog browser search can really suck and not find much of anything when there are lots of servers with excellent ping playing all sorts of maps and game types.

So what should I get? BF BC2 or BF4?

Can you get both?

I would side with Battlefield 4, as it has more content, is more refined, has a larger community, better graphics, and it will last a long time. Bad Company 2 was fun as well, but Battlefield 4 is the larger game, with a lot more gameplay mechanics.

C3 was fun but nothing special, I'd be surprised if it still had an active player base. BF4 on the other hand is fun, has a lot more going for it in terms of gameplay and is still pretty active (even after its rough start turned a lot of people off), ~22K people playing now with a ~40K player 24hr peak on PC alone (Hardlines a laughable 2K/3K lol).

I think BC2 still has a small active community, similar size to Hardline but I would definitely recommend BF4 over it, bigger community, bigger game and most of what's left in BC2 are the diehards, particularly TDM focused IIRC, which will be less fun for someone new to the game.

BF4 man! Check out Insurgency too in Steam. It's so cheap right now and it's like a hybrid of COD4 and Battlefield.

To the people saying BF4 is dead, it has more players than hardline.

Hardline has a next to nothing amount of players(about 1,5k daily PC players) so that's not saying much :P

Get BF4+Premium. It was $20 USD the other day when I checked, not sure if it still is. Definitely worth picking up especially when Hardline is a PoS and we won't get another Battlefield for a while.

I count ~13 64 player servers full, and a couple handfuls of 32 and 48 player servers. And this is only North America.

This is also around noon time on a Tuesday. I'd hardly consider this "dead".
