I am late to the party, I know. What is the point of taking down gaming services? Is this some sort of "look at what we can do because we are jackasses" competition?

And did they actually succeed?

I will kill you if you say Steam was hacked, it took itself out.

Bit late to the party but to be fair, they did threaten it would happen it again were Microsoft and Sony to not fix their disgustingly bad security.

Depends on the situation. Mostly for a hacking group to gain popularity so they can sell their services but in lizard squads case, they were threatening Microsoft and Sony's security last year which they didn't listen.

It SEEMS lizard squad want security vastly improved which IMO is a fair thing to protest about
