can a DDR5 graphic card installed to DDR3 motherboard?

Yes the DDR 3 is only for the RAM DDR5 is GDDR (GPU RAM)

Just look if the GPU fits in your case and that your case has PCIe lanes

Your system memory (ram) only needs to be DDR3 and your graphics card can have pretty much any ddr3, gddr5...

Yes, your GPU RAM has nothing to do with your motherboard/system memory.

Okay.

 

DDR - Are types of Memory.

 

Both this quick to access storage areas are used on the motherboard and also the Graphics card.

 

The DDR3 motherboard can only support DDR3 RAM.

 

But for the graphics card it doesn't matter.

Yes it will fit, however you need to dress in a pink tutu and sing "I'm a little teapot" while twirling around in the middle of the road, otherwise the magic will not happen.

Yes. RAM type has nothing to do with GPU RAM type. It's fine.

Yes, it will work, but I will give you a run down on different memory types, for desktops, there are DDR, DDR2, DDR3 and DDR4, for GPU's there is DDR2, GDDR 3 and GDDR 5.

 

This is an example of a GDDR3 Card.

Both of these are running in a DDR3 Board and would run exactly the same in a DDR2 and DDR4 Board.

GDDR5 (aka graphics DDR5) ram only influences the Graphics card itself. It has nothing to do with the motherboard, hence we do not have HBM motherboards but we have HBM graphics cards.

DDRx (x = 1, 2, 3 and 4) is for the system motherboard. There will never be any interference between graphics memory and system memory, unless you run onboard graphics, in which case the graphics card will use system memory rather than graphics memory, but compatibility is no issue. If it fits, it sits(works) :D
