No, this is Bethesda's fault. This shouldn't be an issue, the game should not be graphically intensive by any means, many other titles look so much nicer, so there is absolutely no reason Bethesda couldn't optimize it. Instead, we get the usual half-done launch on console because developers can say "hurr durr we can fix this in an update." No, that shouldn't be tolerated. The game should have been released fully working, updates should not be an excuse to release a game as poorly done as this is. Shame on Bethesda.

Microsoft needs to penalize developers for pulling these stunts, because it's hurting the image of their console.

Well out of the two consoles, XBONE just plain suck ass. I don't see PS4 having trouble as bad as the XBONE. Even microsoft admitted they can't compete with PS4 hardware.

That's not an excuse to release an incomplete game. If Bethesda couldn't release a working game, they should not have released it, now Microsoft's Xbox One has an ever worse reputation thanks to Bethesda.

Don't blame any devs or Bethesda blame Sony and Microsoft. If their consoles can't even handle this why do people even buy them. I see a very dull future for consoles. People want constant 30FPS or higher at 1080 and soon 4k. The problem is people buy consoles because they think it is the cheap way out and everything will work fine. Well this video is a horrible beast to watch. The dips are bad enough but the freeze is tear jerking

Don't blame any devs or Bethesda blame Sony and Microsoft. If their consoles can't even handle this why do people even buy them. I see a very dull future for consoles. People want constant 30FPS or higher at 1080 and soon 4k. The problem is people buy consoles because they think it is the cheap way out and everything will work fine. Well this video is a horrible beast to watch. The dips are bad enough but the freeze is tear jerking

 

...yeah lets blame the people who make the consoles for the bad game.

That's not an excuse to release an incomplete game. If Bethesda couldn't release a working game, they should not have released it, now Microsoft's Xbox One has an ever worse reputation thanks to Bethesda.

Well out of the two consoles, XBONE just plain suck ass. I don't see PS4 having trouble as bad as the XBONE. Even microsoft admitted they can't compete with PS4 hardware.

 

To be completely fair.  Neither of them can consistently hit 30 FPS.  It's like watching a Geo Metro and a Ford Festiva drag race.  They're both slow, if useful potatoes.  Essentially the PS4 being stronger amounts to nothing in the face of falling short of that 60 fps @ 1080p hype we were all promised.

This isn't about other developers. No one is saying Bethesda and only Bethesda is guilty of this. The issue is that Bethesda has had a record of releasing broken games yet people still pre-order the shit out of their titles and mindlessly follow them.

We're missing each other here. I'm say all games have mindless followings. EA built an empire out of this.

To be fair, some do. Remember the Skyrim update that made dragons fly backwards? :P

But yeah, I'll wait a few months until Bethesda has patched things or there are patches made by modders.

Don't make me remember those nightmares of patches. Skyrim on ps3 one of the patches that added underwater effects and it froze even time you went into water for months. I also remember a patch where the draw distance was so bad I had people shoot arrows at me that I couldn't see them

Oh god, you poor soul. I wasn't even talking about consoles, I was talking about pc. I heard so many horror stories about Skyrim on consoles that I would never wish it on my worst enemy.

 

Random freezes, areas that crashed on loading, saves corrupting after so many hours of play. Not to mention all the problems that could be fixed or worked around through console commands are unavailable because the console doesn't exist on consoles (ha, see what I did there?). Saying it was a disaster would be putting it mildly. I'm pretty sure that my modded Skyrim on it's worst day is more stable with less bugs/glitches/problems than vanilla Skyrim on consoles.

You know what's easier than buying and building a brand new PC? Petty larceny!
If you're worried about getting caught, here's a trick: Only steal one part at a time. Plenty of people will call the cops because somebody stole their computer -- nobody calls the cops because they're "pretty sure the dirty-bathrobe guy from next door jacked my heat sink."

I'm not saying Bethesda is the only company, I even mentioned how Microsoft needs to penalize developers for releasing trash like this (Sony should as well I suppose), Bethesda is just who's in the spotlight at the moment.

 

That would be rather hypocritical as they are both guilty of it as well. Also, neither of them wants to risk pissing off publishers. If one pisses off the big publishers the other will bend over backwards for them.

Bethesda games are weird. They are buggy as all hell, yet they still have a certain pull that no other open world game manages. Bethesda really is the only one delivering games like TES or Fallout, none of the other open world games quite capture the same feeling. That is why they have a big following despite their bad game engine and buggy releases.

If FO4 is stuttering it is because of shitty work by developers. They have a fixed target, if they can't optimize for it it's their problem. It's very easy to do something which will make any hardware stutter, as we have seen on PC badly made stuff runs bad even on overpowered hardware.

Not saying consoles compete with gaming PCs, but this is not a valid comparison.
