CPU: Intel
GPU: Asus (Nvidia)

Dunno, just feel like more money spent = better performance, and both Intel and Nvidia are the more expensive and therefore (in my mind) the more premium option. :P

CPU: Intel hands down, sorry AMD but unless you come with a great new architecture (which is long overdue) intel takes the cake

GPU: Nvidia = EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI           AMD = Sapphire, MSI

For GPU I prefer what I see as the best option at that moment.

Intel and Nvidia.... AMD Systems run hot... How ever dumb that sounds it matters to me. All my friends computers run very hot. You touch the case... its hot...

your friends need better air flow ^_^ but yeah AMD do run a little on the hot side.

CPU: whichever is best at the time and most suitable for the application, so at the moment intel.

GPU: same as above, but at the moment nVidia. GPU provider though, I'd have to say MSI or gigabyte for nVidia, and MSI or Sapphire for AMD

CPU: Intel

GPU: Nvidia (I find the way you update AMD drivers to be confusing)

Honestly though I will pick whatever is the best performance. I really hope that AMD can knock Intel off of their throne eventually; Intel has had it too good for too long.

CPU: intel (no contest there)

GPU: Nvidia (I've always hated Catalyst and the way AMD/ATI handle driver updates), specifically EVGA or Zotac (only company making stuff for my orange-themed build :) )

Though really you can't go wrong with most modern brands, and I tend to recommend AMD video cards to friends with a lower budget.

Currently:

CPU: AMD... I'm impressed with my A8 5600k (which I seem to be unable to push to 4.2GHz on auto-voltage)

GPU: AMD/Sapphire... My 260X is whisper quiet... Even when loaded, the fans only spin up to around 40-ish percent but the temps don't exceed 60C (40C ambient)...

I'll be trying out the G3258 soon...
