Do you think I overspent on my CPU and GPU?

I got a 970 and 4790k, I got the 4790k because I do stream from time to time and the games I play can really eat up the CPU usage.

 

I usually play games in windowed mode at 900p because full screen makes my eyes hurt. I feel like I should have gotten a 960 maybe instead. idk i always have buyer's remorse :/

Nah, just means you can manage higher settings with a higher framerate.

 

Though I would recommend upgrading to 1080p some time down the road.

You should've gotten an R9 390, that's the card you should be sad about...

Your fine, the 970 and 4790k are great

My Build: i7-4790K, 212 Evo, Asus Maximus VI Extreme, Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600, Intel 730 240GB SSD, WD Blue 1TB, EVGA GTX 980Ti ACX 2.0, NZXT H440 Blue/Black, EVGA 650W 80+Gold.

Most of the time, it's not the computer, it's the person using it.

Xeon + R9 390 is more cost efficient.

If it performs good for what you do, you should be happy with it.

Sure, you can always go for a bit lower, but it seems like this works great for you.

Borderless :D

Only problem is when you have multiple more monitors or the game has poor borderless support like SC 2 "tries to scout the map, mouse ends up going outside the window"

Or you try to rotate the camera and the mouse goes outside.. classic

But when it works it's great.
