Well I could tell you they invented the tablet since everyone forgets about Bill Gates holding one up on a stage many years before. They did make them popular though

Firewire was not invented by apple. They adopted it, first I believe, and used it more often. My Compaq Presario has firewire and btw FW is epic! You can daisy chain it! You can't daisy chain USB tho

Pretty sure 1394 is from Apple. I could be wrong though. I like it cause back in the day it just always felt more consistent to me.

I use Gigabyte lan these days mostly though.

Apple didn't claim to invent the tablet, anybody who'd say they did is a fool. However, where the confusion lies is that Apple innovated on the design. They took a shitty concept that had potential and made it something people would like, and then marketed it pretty darn well. Among all the tablets I've used, the iPad Air 2 has been the best functioning one I've owned.

The same thing applies to Tablets, that and the stylus (Apple "Pencil" and their gimped version of the touch cover. Also the combination of resistive and capacitive touch screens for 3D touch-which does the same thing as shortcut areas on a touch pad). Apple takes ideas, mixes them together, markets them into a fashion and presto-a company that shits out money (and products) like there is no tomorrow.

I should probably point this out in the iPad Pro thread-but Microsoft tried going the ARM route with the Surface-that didn't work out. Which is why the Intel Atom and i3/i5 and i7 are now used in the Surface tablets.

The interface was originally intended to run exclusively on an optical physical layer using components and flexible optical fiber cabling developed by Intel partners and at Intel's Silicon Photonics lab. It was initially marketed under the name Light Peak, and after 2011 as Silicon Photonics Link. However, it was discovered that conventional copper wiring could furnish the desired 10 Gbit/s per channel at lower cost.

This copper-based version of the Light Peak concept was co-developed by Apple and Intel. Apple registered Thunderbolt as a trademark, but later transferred the mark to Intel, which held overriding intellectual-property rights.

(Note: The reason Apple handed over the rights is that Intel did most of the actual physical research and it was in Apples best interest to let Intel have it as Intel was better able to continue development and distribution of the technology. In effect to answer the question Apple took credit for Intel's work.)

It was developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s by Apple, who called it FireWire.

(Note: Creative is the one who has utilized this technology the most and you will find it mostly in their products nowadays)

 

PCI or PCIe:

PCIe: Intel, Dell, HP, IBM - 2004

 

AGP: Intel -1996

(Note: This was Intels answer at the time for a higher dedicated bus for graphics card until the PCIe was developed.)
