That's interesting, I didn't notice your location so I assumed you were talking about IDPA, IPSC, or USPSA. 

 

I guess it's good to hear the shooting sports aren't completely dead in the UK.

All considering, it's surprising that they allow such activities to even exist without SWAT teams swarming the place, calling it insurrectionist training camps.

I got lucky that I was pointing in a safe direction. Unlucky in that I failed to check the firearm when I went to uncock it (which is why I hate striker fired pistols that have no decocker). I thought I had just unloaded it.

 

I am now OCD about muzzle direction, trigger discipline, and checking the chamber.

Don't have an accidental discharge. It's not a good way to learn at all, I was extremely lucky and have regretted it ever since.

Almost definitely a Martin. Doubt that it's that particular model though.

It's the only Marlin that has a Stainless barrel/mag tube, full length mag tube, and a hooded front sight.

It's the only standardized version. They also have a custom shop.

 

But without another view, it's not easy to really determine if it's a custom, sight swapped, different Martin model, or a different manufacturer altogether.

It's technically possible, but the custom shop guns make up a shockingly low number of units.

I am like 90% positive thats a Winchester Saddle Ring. The best I can tell from that pic, that looks like a top-eject lever action which to my knowledge Marlin never made.

I asked the local gun store if they were hiring full time on a whim.  They are and it seems at least somewhat promising.

If I get the job, I'd be getting guns and ammo for 10% above what the FFL gets them for.
