Best Graphics Card to go with an i5 4960K

JoeyOnline

Hey there fellow Linus Media Group followers!

I am building a new PC and wondering what the best graphics card will be for an i5 4960K. I am not really bothered if it is AMD or Nvida and pricing isn't really an issue. I will mainly be using the computer to game on and to do work such a programming.

Many thanks, Joseph

Well it depends what your budget is lol... Like, the best GPU would be a Titan X... dumb af to buy but still... On the other hand (the sensible hand) the 980 Ti is currently the sweet spot of GPUs IMO

But most peoples budgets don't allow for a $650 card.

I say the best bang for the buck is a 390/390x.

well if youre not overclocking i wouldnt go higher than a 970 or 390x

if youre overclocking a fury would fit the system quite nice. if you want you can grab fury x or 980ti

It's not a 650$ card when you sell your old card for 200-250$ like me.

If money wasnt an option id get a 980ti, but the 970 has been a good combo with my 4690k playing at 1080p

I'm surprised ppl are still saying the 980ti instead of Fury X when the whole DX12 controversy is still going around : P

The only reason I'm not returning my 980 ti is because by the time DX12 games that use async compute come around, I'll probably upgrade to pascal anyway, so who gives a sh.?
